I think it entirely depends on the map size. Shotgun users are forced to move around wisely in big maps since any wrong move would put them in an AR sight which makes them the most dependent on general game sense. But in small maps, they are completely braindead. BO3 Brecci was just cancerous and don't get me started on the flashlight shotgun from BO4 before the nerfs.

It's becoming more and more clear that BO6 was the filler game for BO7.
That doesn't mean there won't be corner cutting, as it looks like a large amount of the launch maps are taken out of the campaign, so they saved time with that asset reuse. But it still already looks better across the board.

I would urge caution on getting excited for campaign imo. The narrative might be interesting but I'm expecting a LOT of noticeable asset reuse. Expect a lot of the Harrow dream sequence-type stuff based on what we have seen in the trailers, where they basixally have floating segments of other map assets for you to wall jump off of. Then you mix that with "missions" ripped out of the Avalon Warzone map, and then just repurposed multiplayer maps, see >>536021338
If anything, I'd say there's reason to be excited for the zombies, which looks to be the conclusion of the Dark Aether arc, and for multiplayer, which admittedly looks like they put a lot of time into. I'm pretty sure Sledge had some guys working on it to make it possible.
