Ok, I think I know. If you do "hold to aim" on phone and get a shoot very quickly it does no bonus dmg and it continues to give no bonus dmg even if you hold the zoom in. If you do manual zoom in, or miss the first shot in "hold to aim" mode and then hit another the bonus applies. But also sometimes it just works. I could blame it on "it needs at least x seconds in zoomed mode to work" if not for what you can see on the video, repeated no bonus dmg on same mob even though still zoomed in. Then, once I miss or hit other mob first the bonus applies fine.
This doesn't seem to apply to Joseph in tactics 9. Once you're zoomed in it applies the bonus fine, only mobs in gigalink seem to have issue.

Honestly the early chapters could use a rewrite. I remember anons mentioned they are intended to be rewritten though I am not sure how true that is. And how long it’d take since there are that whole mess in Qingying’s chapter.
That said, the early plot lacked proper worldbuilding on the setting itself (which oddly the original Beta of snowbreak had when it delved how their world was recovering from Juvosis) and the early plot rides on running left and right seeking the Brísingamen. I don’t even remember if we found that thing since it disappeared from the plot altogether.
Concorde Ode actually did something really right by showing the pre-Valkyrie games Adjutant running around with Luna and the teases with the other girls that would appear later. Makes me hopeful the rewrite is nearby.
