I can agree. The emotion system doesn't really stop the battle formula from getting stale once you find a turn order. But the music stopped any fight from being boring to me. From Three Bar Logo to Gator Gambol, Sweet Paralysis or Jawbreaker, I never got tired of combat encounters if it means I got to enjoy the music.

Underwater Prom Queens wound up being a surprise favorite of mine on a recent playthrough. The Humphrey fight had a nice atmosphere with its songs, one I didn't really appreciate at first. I can think of a reason, but Headspace was oddly a lot more enjoyable on repeat playthrough's.

Same. Headspace hasn't gotten really much time dedicated to it. If there was a time to do it, it would be at this point since the chapters have Last Resort, Deeper Well and Humphrey, than Black Space to cover. Kind of worried those first three things could be compressed together and we won't get much time for the Slime Girls and three hearts they create. I know Omocat has gone on record saying she doesn't like the whale, but it would be a shame if Humphrey and the rest got cut somehow.

That's actually a brilliant change.

Temperance is such a beautiful word

It feels like the manga has been particularly focused on Aubrey. It's been giving her a lot more focus, even giving her scenes like this. It's interesting. I don't think Aubrey needed it compared to some other characters, but I'm not going to complain about more character. As well as what seems to be Sunny's guilt over his friends leaking into Headspace, which I'm all for Sunny's interactions in Faraway leaking into Headspace. I have to wonder if a scene like this could theoretically have made it into Omori of faraway_conditional had been part of the finished product. But I am curious what about his interactions with Hero made Sunny dream up this Bossman Hero situation. Unless this is just a disconnected part of Sunny's dream. Also does this mean no Mr. Jawsum? How...sad!
Also Omori just straight up murdered the fuck out of that Gator Guy all because he shoved Mari aside. I kind of hope that they're nicer after Hero gets restored to normal because I really liked their whole rough exterior/nice interior shtick. The Gator Guys had some cute dialogue in Omori once they're no longer enemies.

I think I see the plan. Unless we're shifting focus to Headspace for a few chapters because Humphrey and Black Space are ahead of us, this is how Omocat gets rid of that fucking whale. We got the Last Resort chapter, we get another one for the Bossman Hero encounter, then everyone forgets Basil right away so they can head on home for the Black Space entrance. God I hope that's not the case and we get Humphrey + more Sweetheart + Slime Girls, but that could very well not be the case. How...tragic!

Gator Gambol and Jawbreaker are such good songs.
It's interesting that that particular Gator Guy had a gun. The rest we saw were unarmed or had batons/stun batons, unless they were hiding firearms in their pockets. It's like Headspace escalated in a sense to fit how Sunny/Omori must have been feeling in that moment. Or to give him a better outside reason to murder than seeing Mari get roughly shoved, which would only have meaning to him.

To be fair, Kel has been the most active in trying to reach out to Aubrey. Even in the game it was usually Kel, like at the lake if you lose the Hooligan fight. Sunny's helped push things along when needed, but usually remains as a passive viewer. Sunny's just keeping that consistent. It's who he is. Let his friends do the talking. Plus he knows that Kel really does care about Aubrey since they're friends, so of course he'd try to help her.
