I like to keep at least one or two battle pass weapons, maybe get them to R5 (I still have R5 Augment that I've never used -- still waiting for a use case). My thinking is that I will buy every signature for a limited character, and if the occasional four star comes along that I want to level up, I give them a cracked battle pass weapon instead of a five star weapon. The new battle pass weapons all seem to correlate with the upcoming limited five star characters, which is nice if you don't like to pull on every signature (which doesn't apply to me, as if you don't like a character enough to pull for its signature, you shouldn't be pulling the character to begin with), but in general they do actually seem to be a bit more powerful, so worthing holding on to for the occasional four star they release

I've been thinking about this.
See, I've only been playing WW for a week (I'm at Union LV39 and just finished "To The Shore's End") and I'm making good progress on finishing puzzles and finding chests and all that with my free characters (Rover, Verina and Chixia).
Eventually, I'm gonna begin pulling and getting limited 5-star characters.
But by the time I already have them, like most of the map is going to be cleared.
What will I have to do with these new characters I will get in the future?
1. Obviously, level them up, ascend them, equip them with echoes and max out all their echoes, etc.
2. Use them for future major events.
3. Use them for endgame stuff.
And this is good and all, but I won't get to enjoy going through the game with them. By the time I get the characters I want (Iuno, Lupa, Yinlin, etc.), the main meat of the player's journey will already be mostly over.
Don't get me wrong, I'm really enjoying the game so far.
I wouldn't be at 80 hours in a week if I wasn't having fun.
But WW definitely has this aforementioned conundrum.
This might sound controversial, but I feel like WW's devs should consider gifting players story-related 5-star character at specific points in the main story, like getting Jiyan after beating Dreamless, getting Jinhsi after finishing Mt. Firmament, and getting Shorekeeper after the "To The Shore's End" quest. This would make it feel more like a traditional adventure/JRPG game where key characters join your party after major story moments.

This is the dude that's seemingly on nearly everyone's team in challenge videos. Nobody ever seems to use him for anything other than his big anchor move though.

His big anchor move is where all the damage in his rotation comes from. It also helps that he can attack mostly from mid-air, which lets you ignore most boss mechanics.

blue archive cunnychad here, i've seen this game is more botw/genshin-like but i've been itching for a new gacha. i'm assuming the time investment in this game is higher, but can i still pick this up as a chill side game?

It runs fine on phone if you aren't a turdworlder using hardware from 10 years ago. It actually runs faster than Genshin for me. The fact the game isn't japanese is the main problem.

The time investment is considerably lower than hoyo games (if you can use that as reference) because even though it has an open world, the world is more of a way to support the story, and you can skip the exploration with an in-game guide for the puzzles in every area and extremely fast traversal with flying (being retroactively added to the first areas in a week). And they avoid the usual chinese npc slop/festival slop and overall overly verbose stuff so patches rarely take more than 4 hours, but the cost is that they are so too the point that they only focus on a few character in most patches (the newer characters). Dailies + stamina spending + battle pass stuff can be done in considerably less than 5 minutes once you have a solid team.
