The idea would be analogous to a human woman forcing a stranger to raise a psychopath that kills their children and then trying to murder the "foster parent" if they refuse to do so.

But I don't really think it would work out if a Monstergirl Cuckoo existed because Harpies are far different from average birds in terms of both humanity, strength, and intelligence, and they greatly value community and unity while the bird that the Cuckoo typically bullies is usually on it's own. If they tried to pull that on an actual Harpy they'd get mauled either by the Harpy herself or mobbed away by the rest of the flock, each Harpy covering for the other so no one would get messed with. And, thankfully, that would also mean they wouldn't be successful at murdering the children. I can assure you this is why such creatures have never existed nor will such things happen with them. The Harpies just won't let them get away with it.

If it makes you feel any better, "Cuckoo/Cuculidae" isn't a specific species, it's more a Family of Birds, like how "Corvid" encompasses things like Crows and Ravens. And plenty of Birds in Cuculidae aren't brood parasites and do take care of their own young. In fact many are (like most of the 90% of birds) monogamous and/or mate for life, such as the Roadrunners.
But most people are probably thinking of the Common or European Cuckoo, and yeah, they're assholes. One hypothesis is they keep destroying their eggs/nests to try and force them to build a new nest so they can give the 'foster' another chance to take care of their kid. But if the Mom keeps rejecting it they'll keep doing it.

The monster shows up and somehow "infects" a woman(human or other monster too, whatever you prefer), and while the child is born normaly, after a few years it grows the cuckoo traits. Maybe look for a mythlogical creature that has some very distinct trait that can serve as both a marker and a way to infect people. A spiked tail, fangs, a jewel, something like that.

It's common to take them for granted by how diluted and commonplace the average generic fantasy setting causes them to be, but Elves are monsters anon. They are at their roots magical spirits tied with nature who are fickle and associated with beauty, seduction and also causing trouble (like illnesses or tricks). They also become connected to fairies and the fair folk and the two are often seen as synonymous these days, to the point some may forget they weren't always like that.
Hilariously (and I do honestly love trtr for doing stuff like this) the Alfr are actually a lot more accurate to real, historical Elves than you might expect, as Elves originated in germanic folklore and their original name was the Ælf/Ælfe. They were also heavily associated with the Æsir and a lot of what we do have on their folklore is heavily debated on because a lot of what's translated shows very clear signs of having been re-contextualized by Christianity (making it hard to 100% know what they were originally like), before later on becoming the Elves more people are familiar with.
I think Tolkien's LotR Elves have just become so widespread that people tend to forget what Elves could or have been like sometimes because they're so used to 'human with pointy ears' that they stop seeming that different. Elves are undeniably the least monstrous kind of any Monster Girl that exists, at least outwardly, but they do still count as one.

Pretty sure he both said the LoC update will be further down from the NG+ update, and that the dataminers proved the story was actually "finished" with Chaos joining in the ending instead of NG+ where she was supposed to so the actual ending to that is just a rewrite.

I don't really understand how anyone thinks reusing the pilgrim disguise and fighting in the arena is going to work when it's repeatedly established that the more powerful angels can see through the illusion and the archangels are already on high alert. To be fair, things turn out pretty much how you'd expect there, I'd just expect someone to at least acknowledge that it's an awful plan. I also don't get why Luka decides his only option is to try and fight Sariela when he says right before that that he trusts his party to come back for him (I guess maybe he overestimates the new party members, but it's pretty clear how strong the archangels are at that point). I don't expect perfect decision making or flawless writing, but it feels like that section is particularly awkward because it's forcing in all those fights.

Adding onto that, the story was definitely supposed to end with Chaos joining, but I think the real reason for NG++ is because trtr had started to realize that there were just going to be problems with the ending he couldn't avoid at that point and it could run the risk of becoming unsatisfying, so instead of delaying it even further, the main story was 'finished' and the "golden route" will probably be him rectifying all the problems or unresolved issues that remain to make the ending better.

The point of the plan was not to disguise the party from the Archangels by then; the townspeople and normal angels can't see through it, but that's only really enough to allow them to enter the tournament in the first place, and Tamamo knows that they'll only be able to pull off 'one or two more' sneak attacks. The point of the plan was purely to get Uriela into a position where she's distracted so that Tamamo can just insta-kill her, because Uriela's such a strengthtard that even though she'll see through their disguises she'll still allow them to compete anyways purely because she just wants to fight them.
And when you take into account the fact that (also by Uriela's own admission) she's a moron, Tamamo thinking "she's stupid enough to do all of this stuff, so she's probably also stupid enough to fall for this" makes sense. The reason it got derailed was because Uriela turned out to have been the one who killed Tamamo in her own world, something Tamamo couldn't have known, meaning unbeknownst to her Uriela's actually experienced at dealing with her deceit and feints to bait her out.

As for fighting Sariela iirc it's more him trying to hold the line so it will be easier for them to escape or be rescued since what they were probably going to do with him at that point would be spoilery.

A long time ago he said there was always going to be Super Traits so even though he didn't confirm it he was always planning NG+, and the preview picture showing Part 3 Alice Route mean it's just going to be 100% perfection rather than just a whole new route. He didn't feel bad for her (he was going to make a whole mode to saving her specifically) but knows releasing the game and the finally being "Hooray we killed your daughter! pls wait for the update to save her!" would be a super shit move so now he's just changing NG+ to include her as much as possible so it doesn't look like a last second change in hindsight.

I just think there's probably a few good possible reasons behind why he might have decided to change Chaos's role in the story (which necessitated moving her recruitment up to happen in it), and I do honestly think part of it was because he felt bad for her if her motivations about how desperate she is to not just be 'an enemy' to be 'defeated and forgotten about' are taken into account.
I think him believing that the original story with Chaos (whether pre-or-post rewrite, but I believe it was probably pre-rewrite and a factor in it happening) was too dark and sad even if NG++ would've been about saving her is a factor that played into it too.

Displays various metrics from last battle fought.
Very loosely based on Yanfly 6 - Performance Screen - yanflychannel.wordpress.com/rmvx/menu-scripts/status-menu/performance-screen/, most of the code is new. It was fucking great idea - let's just adapt this script to the game lmao.. but script is for fucking custom status screen for a custom battle engine for rpg maker vx. It was not fucking compatible at all, 98% of the code was scrapped.

Two new tabs in Basic Info of Status Menu
Mod adds 3 new tabs to Basic Info of Status Menu for each character.
After a battle player can see some metrics for character's actions in that battle.
New battle happens - metrics refreshed.
Metrics include, but not limited: Total Damage Dealt/Taken, Hits Landed/Received, Evades and Misses, and some others.
Third new tab shows up to 12 Skills used in last battle in format "Skill Name Total Damage (Uses:Hits)".
E.g. skill used 3 times in battle, and landed 9 hits each time, then it'd be (3:27).
Skills sorted by highest total damage and highest uses, in that order. So if character used more than 12 skills in a battle, lowest damage lowest uses skills would be pushed out from displayed list.
Mod is NOT ACCURATE . It just gives player general idea of what happened in last battle. Specifically, Drains are not accounted for AT ALL, and healing for individual skills is not recorded too.
NOT compatible with Paradox version 2.41 and below (works only on 3.00 and above), there were changes in the core code.

A very big (and arguably crucial) part of Koron's character is just how bizarrely affable and friendly she is DESPITE how extremely violent and unimaginably powerful she is. It's a sort of dissonant serenity that both highlights how detached from reality she is and yet makes her words sincere and poignant. Her dying words about how the power of friendship is as real and valid a form of strength as all of her own natural power wouldn't have worked if Koron wasn't someone who was genuinely friendly in her own right, and her proving her mother wrong in the same breath is hammered home by her being the one to explain this to her too.

When she's in her downtime, that is exactly how I've always seen her.
Really that's kind of how I thought she looked when she broke into the castle to begin with.

But it's right after this moment when we arrive there that she explains how "Mother always misunderstands", and Koron reveals that she doesn't do this out of "resentment or revenge", but because she's internalized her Mother's attempt on her life as a twisted form of love based in strength, and the Koron who survived genuinely believes (either because she's coping or just that insane) that Fatlice's attempt to kill her was an expression of love, so she kills her Mother in every universe she finds her in as a way of repaying that form of "love" in what Koron believes is the ultimate expression of her gratitude.
Because the only reason she wants to be "the strongest" in the first place is because she wants her Mother to be proud of her and how far she's come. So even her asking her Mom to train her at the place she planned to kill her was probably meant to be sincere.

I think the issue is more on how the industry is nowadays. Isekai is basically that Fantasy School Harem subgenre in steroids nowadays.
Basically, anything can get adapted. The reason the names are super long? Because the web novel sites are bloated so they started putting the synopsis on the title. Some contests forbid the genre.

I think there's plenty good Hapy Harpy representation to be fair, but I do think Mermaids are probably the most popular or at least widely recognizable Monster Girl with Harpies being a closer second, which is why I was pleasantly surprised by what that anon had found. Harpies are much, much more common in vidya than in anime however. At least back when I played they were always too expensive or hard to find. All I have are some of the old original Harpy Lady cards, the Dragon, and the original Harpie's Brother before he was renamed.
I fell out of playing YGO in general both because of the expense of it and after seeing what it had become when a friend tried to get me back into it and how completely far removed it was from everything I remembered; it's almost a completely different game at this point. The tipping point was what happened to the archetype I had tried out (and genuinely did like a lot) and seeing it getting turned into yet another "one card self-playing combo" thing in real time made me realize why I hated the modern version so much.
Not gonna go into a diatribe about it here, but I'm just disappointed in what it turned into, even if I still have fond nostalgia for it. I'd rather save the spare money I do have for something else, if I get the chance I guess.

I was willing to put up with Tearlaments and some visas-mech shit or whatever and all those omni-negates that exist for a time anon, and the stupidity that is 'links', but really I just cannot bring myself to care that deeply about it anymore. What other games do you know of that have harpies in them? I personally can't think of any other widely recognized harpies other than maybe the two unseen and unnamed ones in Dark Souls.

Well, what, did you think her name from the day she was born was "Queen Harpy"? I'd always kinda wondered what her real name was to be honest since (given her history especially) she wasn't always called that. Even in the original world, the Mermaid Queen's name was Laura, because she's the same Mermaid from that tale. So some of the Queens clearly always had real names besides their titles.
By the way, if you're wondering, Lucretia was almost certain named after Lucretia of Rome, and if you're familiar with the noblewoman's story then you can probably appreciate both the irony and aptness of her namesake.
Reina's name is much simpler though, her name simply means "Queen".

should probably count though, well idk, I always viewed 'true' Harpies as not having developed hands on the wings, but the Harpie Ladies were my very first introduction into Harpies in general so I'm always gonna be fond of them.
And their Japanese Art has spikey armor yeah, but overseas the art's smoothed out and they wear more clothing. Do with that as you will.

I'll check and see what else I can remember Harpies being from, if there's recruitable bird girls of some variety, I try to keep a reminder to go back to it even if I don't end up playing it.

As someone who did a full Harpy Only Run of Paradox with Reina clearing it deathless I can tell you, you'll probably love a lot of the Harpies.

That being said remember the original world had Luka and Alice get together and that's clearly canon. Singularity!Luka, during the festival event, only truly enjoys himself with Alice there in a proper date kind of way. He keeps being clueless around Sonya, uncomfortable with Ilias, and somewhat on-guard around Alma. Given a lot of things, while I refuse to do so because I do not like her (or him, really, for that matter), Singularity!Luka is probably "supposed" to get together with Singularity!Alice and the other options are fanservice.
this is also probably why the Singularity!Alice turned into a massive fucking cuck.

Both of them spend the rest of the day crying to Frieren over advice on how to do that date, Frieren wondering how the fuck did they think asking her was a good idea. She tells Stark some good places to go to based on what Fern likes, tells Fern what to wear. At the end, both of them conclude that while it was nice and Fern is grateful that Stark would worry so much about how to make her happy, she was a bit disappointed that none of the places felt like "Stark places". They conclude more or less with the implication that next time they won't ask for advice and instead just go with their own vibes.

But beyond that, it really does play as just a normal date, albeit between two extremely awkward and inexperienced teens. Maybe VN Luka, but Paradox Luka is absolutely a self insert. His unwillingness to kill any girl whatsoever is a symptom of that. As the self insert protagonist of a waifu collector game, he has to be as inoffensive as possible towards waifus so every player can identify with him. This lets players who like Hiruko & the Calamities project themselves onto him with no resistance.

The entire premise of the story is that he spent his entire life waiting for Frieren, with her not realizing how much time she was spending just fucking around with her autistic wizard stuff away from him, until they meet again and he's already at death's door. At his funeral, she cries her eyes out because it suddenly comes crushing down on her what an admirable person he was and that she could have been closer to him and spent that life together. What kickstarts the main plot is that she hears of a way to talk to the dead's souls so she goes there in hopes she'll get at least one final conversation with him.

The whole series is sort of an exploration on the nostalgic beauty of life, and how time just keeps going on no matter what and you have to appreciate what you have now, because one day it will be gone, but with time also comes new things to love.
