I guess that's what not having a route does to them, they're fotm at the moment until dlc comes in. Maybe it's the fan base finishing up the game and seeing how little relevance they have outside of Kako-G, and moving on.

If that were the case, that doesn't explain how the Darumi fandom and merch sales are still going strong despite debatably being even less relevant them, and having much less screen time. Although she does have two actual routes, and in one of them is in a polycule with Yugamu, the third most popular character. So maybe that explains it.

As a Darumi fan, it seems nice to know she has a shot at beating the twins in the popularity poll and getting 4th place.

His mind is very interesting, also in the interview he stated that his approach to games was to create the best story possible with no branches and that branches diminish the story. But then he had this crazy idea, asked Uchikoshi to help specifically because he’s known for making branching type stories, writes his one and done story and then I suppose just blindly trusted Uchikoshi to create a crazy branching story off what he wrote. He accepted his inexperience with branching stories and instead just left it up to Uchikoshi to do whatever he wanted.
