I wish someone would help me understand why there is this perception that I dislike all non-Maria Shadow ships. I've actually drawn Shadamy and Shadouge multiple times. I'm curious about where this idea that I only support one Shadow pairing and dislike the others might have come from.

I asked AI to write interaction with Ariem, Blaze and Silver and what it spat out shocked me after I gave it a rundown of their personality traits NOT THE COMIC SHIT FROM ARCHIE OR IDW OR LOCALIZERS of course and it basically had Silver and Blaze depicted as delinquents that get into fights with damn near everybody including each other, extremely confident in their abilities when it comes to combat yet almost shy and quiet when there's nothing to throw/set on fire.

Ariam was depicted as a calming source not only between them but almost all situations and they often defer to her when asking for advice on how to interact without violence.

On one hand this does feel accurate yet also not accurate, like game blaze and silver know how to behave in public and ariam while a very calm person, she never raises her voice once in dream team and the only time she shows legit anger is at the very beginning of the game but I don't think she'd know how to behave in public or handle non combat situations.

What do you guys think?

I think it's a ridiculous thing for people to get hung up on. Since while mammals are named for their ability to produce milk, there are other traits unique to us that other Sonic characters shouldn't have.
Reptiles as a clade almost entirely lack the larynx. Birds have a syrinx rather than a larynx. Speech like a human, with vocalizations produced in the throat and enunciated in the mouth, are almost entirely exclusive to mammals in a similar manner to milk.
Breasts are just another way to make the characters appear more human (among other things). I don't mind it at all.

How is Atlus not good at writing?

Anyone else notice all Sonic Team designed females have light fur colors, or at the very least not dark? It feels like it's on purpose. Males have richer colors while females are more pastel.
Amy is pink, which is naturally a lighter color.
Blaze is light purple/lilac.
Rouge is white.
Cream is a light tan color, so is her mother.
Tikal is a light orange.
SoJ females don't seem to get darker than Wave or Marine.

What the fuck is the obsession with making Sonic and Mario characters from another dimension? Every single goddamn adaptation does this. The recent movies for both of them used this tired, lazy "fish out of water" trope. It's a creative crutch used by writers who are too fucking stupid to just tell a story in the fantasy world that already exists. They have to ground it in "our world" to make it relatable for the dumbest fucking denominator.

And don't even start with the "it's the shitty western writers" argument. The Japs are just as guilty of this shit. Sonic X was a Japanese production and its entire premise was Sonic getting dumped into the human world with that little faggot Chris. The 1986 Mario movie, was a fucking isekai too. It literally pulls two dudes from the real world into their NES.

It got so retarded with Sonic that Iizuka and company had to officially come out and say "no guys, it's just one world" because the movies and shows created so much brand confusion. Just set the fucking story in their world. It's not that hard.

This is something that is continuously stated on numerous pages throughout Sonic channel. Cream is not 'polite because Society expects her to be'. Cream is polite because she desires to be. Cream desires to put a degree of separation between herself and other people, which is why she'll refer to others who are not super close to her with formal language. Cream's defining traits are not 'how many rules she follows'. Her defining trait is her strong sense of justice and trueness to her internal strength of character, her overwhelming self-confidence, and her desire to be the best that she can be. Cream has a lot more in common with Sonic than you give her credit for because your bias blinds you and you are incredibly selective with what information you absorb. It would not surprise me if your view of the character(s) have been tainted by insufficient localization.

Cream is a 'Girl Tails' designed to follow Amy, who is 'Girl Sonic'. And the more important aspects of Tails that is being reflected here is his primary role as a small, yellorange kid with the ability to fly, but with a personality that contrasts the older sibling figure. Sonic & Amy are impulsive and carefree and adventurous and live by their feelings, so Tails & Cream are more cautious, polite, gentle and soft. Cream's personality at its core is just a copy of Tails, the only reason she seems any more or less pure/sweet/kind than Amy is because all those same traits already exist in Tails. Cream just does it as a GIRL, so that automatically conveys the trope of a girl being sweet and loving or whatever. Cream acts almost exactly like Tails does, but as a girl using "Mr" and "Ms", and so that creates a different impact. With Tails, most of his personality gets glossed over in favor of "well, he's the smart one". But for Cream, her personality as somewhat vaguely kind and nice is hyper-focused on so much it damaged how people see Amy by comparison.

The thing is, between Amy and Cream, it's Cream who is more in-line with the more generic concept of "the Girl Character", since those pure-hearted traits tend to be interpreted in the form of someone who always follows the rules and does as she's told. That's someone who would be idealized as a traditional wife that'd be super-submissive to her husband or whatever. Amy directly subverts that by being the one who wears the "pants" in the relationship between her and Sonic, she is the one chasing him rather than him having to win over her. Amy is as carefree and wild as Sonic, and even MORE than Sonic due to her energy and passion. Sonic doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, but Amy IS that heart out in the open. And that causes some people to reject her in favor of Cream.

Also, your interpretation of this is confusing kindness for politeness in general. Amy is not Cream. She is not "on her best behavior", she does not "mind her manners", or anything like that. She's tomboyish in spirit, or whatever that Japanese term is for the precise concept I mean.

Absolutely not. Amy is pure, blindingly passionate and nothing else. Amy reads her fortunes, gets a glimpse of what the future might hold, and immediately rushes in blind towards it without any further thought at all. All logic goes out the window in favor her "Feelings" and "intuition". If it were someone like Tails, he'd try and decipher what the fortune may actually mean, but Amy doesn't do that. She thinks she has it all figured out just from her gut feeling alone, and chases it intensely. This is on-screen throughout Sonic Heroes.

Cream questions Amy, But Amy just says "my heart is never wrong", and Cream rolls her eyes but goes along with it. There is nothing strategic about Amy or Sonic, they both live purely by their own feelings in the moment. The difference between Sonic & Amy in that respect is that Sonic keeps those feelings inside but Amy will show it off to the whole world.

Tails & Amy are like two sides of Sonic. Sonic's powers versus Sonic's personality.

Tails can do what Sonic can, but he doesn't "think" like Sonic. Amy DOES think like Sonic, but she can't just do what Sonic can. Of course, after Adventure, this changes for both. Tails becomes more self-confident and proactive on his own, while Amy strives to be more capable of getting thing done on her own. Tails has Sonic's powers but needed to learn from Sonic's personality. Amy has Sonic's personality but needed to learn how to use Sonic's powers.

Of course, this isn't 100% literal, but that's beside the point. Both Amy and Tails are also "warm", but Amy's personality being so Sonic-like otherwise makes her a contrast to Tails. Tails is Sonic's partner, so he contrasts Sonic as any foil would even if I wouldn't him a "foil" himself. If Sonic is X, Tails is Y. But Amy with Sonic is like she's the one who says the quiet part out loud that Sonic would've just left quiet. Amy is Sonic's "heart" out in the open, that he'd otherwise keep under wraps as the "cool guy".

That's the root of Sonic & Amy's dynamic, essentially. Sonic is cool and aloof, so here's a girl that embodies all the feelings he doesn't openly express. With Tails, Sonic is the cool guy, so Tails is the kid who wants to be cool and copies his actions/style. So between Tails & Amy, they both draw heavily from Sonic but in different ways. Which means you can almost get a complete package of Sonic just between the two of them, if it weren't for the very core aspects that are missing from both. But regardless, it's through the two of them that you'd see the impact Sonic has on the world around him.
