Watch vids in the op to learn how to notch properly. If you want to go high at the beginning of the match get used to going cold turning back and fucking off instead of notching, its way easier and makes people stop caring about you. If you see a nigga launch a missile at you from a distance, you can launch your own at him for a quick vibe check and to force him into defense and/or to drop DL. Other than that its all about positioning which you will get a feel for with time.

Go to your settings and reduce the sensitivity of your RWR a bit. That will help cut down on false positives and make sure that the RWR warnings are actual locks against you and not just noise nearby.

In most matches, I recommend starting by flying at ~5km. That's just below contrail height. If you're a climbing giganigga then you can try to climb higher, but without more info I'm assuming that your plane isn't a climbing king. When your RWR starts warning you about the initial long range missile launches, just fucking turn around. Go ahead and quickly turn away, but once you've turned 90 degrees you can take your sweet ass time completing the rest of the loop. Like leisurely turning back towards your airfield and eventually face the battle again over the course of 30-60 seconds. That initial long range clusterfuck salvo most likely does not have the energy to reach you when you don't graciously fly into it. After this initial salvo it's a bit easier to keep track of all of the missiles since a lot of people on both teams will be dead.

When you are notching a missile, you will need to deploy chaff once you're in the notch. You'll also want to climb or dive to throw off the missile's attempts to maintain tracking with inertial navigation and attempts to scan where you last were. Personally I like to bait the missiles to fly in one direction, then I'll notch the missile, and finally I'll perform a Split-S while maintaining the notch. This changes my heading entirely while the missile keeps looking along my old heading.

When flying low, you need to thread a needle of ~30-50m above the ground. Higher than that and multipathing won't really work. Lower than that and you're too close to your "reflection" for you to reliably stay safe from proximity fuses. Multipathing is not effective against missiles dropped on top of your head at high angles.

Falklands is a great map to exploit the match length reward factor in, because the tickets in this map aren't bound to the ground targets, making matches on average last longer. That reduces the work to get a higher reward to just personal survival and enemy survival.

Bismarck is probably the best 8.3 followed by Richelieu. Vanguard is solid but nothing special, however it gets the best matchmaking. Italy got fucked pretty hard on every soft stat, which is funny since Russia ripped off all their design practices and they showed a lot of those stats should be buffed but weren’t. If that changed they’d probably have the best 8.3 or second worst 8.7 if it went up. I reiterate that Yamato is just that bad, so much ammo it’s pretty much a guaranteed one salvo if you can pen, which most ships can on in game maps.
