Army of Light was the army consisting of all races that Old Man Anduin summoned for the last battle for the fate of the universe.
Also there the Lightbound Army of AU Draenor led by Yrel. It consists of orcs, draenei and ogres.
Also there is Arathi and Scarlet Crusade thing with secret Menethil.
Judging by how we have zero AU Draenor Army assets so far, that Army was either scrapped or forgotten.
Arathi's and Scarlet Crusade's abscence is also noticeable.
And it's certainly not the Army of Light Old Man Anduin had.
So what the fuck is THAT Army that Liadrin summoned? This is scuffed army of human male paladins (and some Lightforged draenei by the look of it).

Retail really is shit though. All this eversong woods and ghostlands update talk past couple of days has been making me really nostalgic for the real TBC eversong woods and ghostlands. The core memories i have of making multiple blood elf characters and leveling through those beautiful zones. Leveling your first blood elf paladin, getting your blood knight tabard, getting rez at level 10 in ghostlands, getting the sindorei warblade, epic feeling quest where you attack darkholme at the end. Eversong is so beatiful and i had so much fun leveling through it slowly on those slow classic characters.

Now it's going away. Makes me sad a bit. I could make a new blood elf and level through it right now for a last hurrrah but it wouldn't be the same, retail leveling is so utterly soulless and gay.
I'd have to play TBC classic just to get even a fraction of that feeling back.

If it makes you feel any better, nuEversong will probably be an instanced zone on another map. They'll keep the old one in the game forever, and leveling a belf will be extremely jarring because the 1-20 zone you quest through will look and feel completely different and have different proportions to the endgame one. Kind of like how Nagrand and WoD Nagrand are completely different zones that only share a name.

I'm interested in MMOs and there are some things I heard about WoW that seem very questionable from an MMORPG design perspective. Any thoughts on these?

1. WoW expansions invalidate previous content and progress. From what I understand, new level cap, new zone, and WoW scales more exponentially, and often rushes players to the max level. Previous gear becomes worthless? Old content becomes not a challenge?

2. Timegated content. WoW has makes certain dungeons/raids "weeklies"? So you can't play as much as you want to grind out whatever you want?

3. Does WoW even have conventional gathering, crafting and profession mechanics? I don't think I've ever seen anyone discuss these in the context of WoW?

The last time they had an actual budget for Cinematics was BFA.
There's a reason every cinematic after dropped the unique designs on screen to a bare minimum.
Hell, most people don't even realize Wrathion got cut from one of the Dragonflight cinematics because of budget shit. He was supposed to be in a fight scene with a Dracthyr
