debuffers don't seem as powerful as people made them out to be. the pack is extremely stretched during the opening and middle legs and in the final leg the good umas will have already bolted to the front, so all the evil natures are hitting are each other and the other shitter umas at the back

Having multiple aces is only good if they are at the same relative power level. My early fast learner Cap is just so much better than the other two. They still do okay against the other racers but they very rarely beat Cap. Gold ship did manage to beat my Cap once, but Cap still came in second anyway so it doesnt matter. My results would have been exactly the same even if Cap was racing by herself.

I started working on CM2 a week ago. Here's what I can tell you:

You ideally want like 1200/1200/800+ on stats. This means you will be running 3 speed 3 stam (with 20% stam growth) or 2 speed 4 stam (with 20% speed growth). You also want as many Power sparks as you can get. Then you just have to do nothing but hit speed/stam/wit and hope your supports go to speed/stam a lot.

Narita Taishin will destroy everything else by like 2-3 lengths due to End Closer having the only consistent acceleration for the race, and Taishin has the gold version of it.

Narita Taishi's inherent gold recovery doesn't work if there's an Urara in the race, so Urara with stamina drain for end closers will counter Taishin.

If Urara is the only front runner, the pace will slow down and Taishin will consume less stamina, so a front runner will counter Taishin players using their own Urara as front runner (or really anyone doing it, since you can use a low stam pace chaser with tons of mid-race velocity skills that cancel the slowdown from Urara front).

You basically have to use Mejiro Mcqueen SSR welfare stam card for the Cooldown skill proc which has shit RNG. This card is pretty much the same at 3LB and 4LB.

Gold Ship is the 2nd strongest after Taishin, again by a large amount over anything else. This is because of the Straightaway Spurt skill, which you have to inherit off of a white spark and cannot get from supports. I recommend starting to use daily borrows to borrow a power spark with straightaway spurt (there's only 1 on DB last I checked) and use it as a grandparent until you hit your own spark on a parent (use Hishi Amazon as a support in these runs to get the skill), and then use that parent as a grandparent alongside the guest again so you have 2 legacies with 4 copies of straightaway spurt among them.

Looks like I'm losing another CM. I even rolled for her, but the gacha gods are cruel.
