That being said I think the general disinterest in the character is the kind of wet fart his whole arc is and how he's just a little boring. I really like his look and his whole vibe and the very late game stuff with his dad has some actually nice character moments, but I feel for most of the game he just feels kinda bleh. The sad part is his concept as it currently exists would actually be really interesting if they went deeper on the "disgraced son of a Duke being groomed by a devil to kill his father and take his place" thing but they didn't go for it ig. Everything between getting the story of how he came to make his pact and saving his dad is like a wasteland bereft of content for Wyll. There's no cool reveal like mizora setting up rigged fights for Wyll so he can nurture a positive reputation or Wyll struggling against the temptations of the power his deal with the devil gives him. His character arc happened off screen, before the game starts.

The tadpoling thing is largely a contrivance to get the plot going.
At face value, the squids randomly abducted people and then tadpoled them to get their numbers back up but the Emperor having a plan implies some method to madness.

Perhaps she got unlucky, caught a stray tentacle and was teleported into a pod and then the Emperor simply rolled with it.
It's not like the Emperor seems terribly picky, given that he also tadpoled people like Astarion.
If you don't play as Lae'zel, i guess it's reasonable because he has no immediate remedy to remove her and any suggestions to remove her would raise suspicion.
No excuse for Lae'zel origin, though.

I think they MAYBE could squeeze in a side quest unrelated to the Dead Three plot for this. But I think what you're more suggesting is that these requests be present for the choices you make in present quests. Because the Karlach manipulation is just dialogue, but Mizora manipulating Wyll during our campaign is iffy. She's just as concerned about the Dead Three plot as the gods, I can see her not being so heavy-handed with Wyll so as not to diminish their chances at success. She even turned him into an outsider for breaking their contract that should have made him a lemure.

Basically expanding on how you can hear Mizora's laughter when you level Wyll. MAYBE put it behind a save to notice when Mizora is whispering at Wyll when you have dialogue options to make. Because of the tadpole connection, you can see Mizora over his shoulder (yes, I know she gives him orders through his eye), or overhear the radio comm.
That would've been really cool. There's already options in the game that don't unlock if you don't pass a save that lends replayability. It would be the same for this, but more exciting.
I wouldn't get my hopes up that we get something like this in their next game, but it would be nice since they can take their time.

I just wish Wyll had some "checks" like Shart has with the graffiti, the tomb, etc. in Act 3, which then push her to act on her own initiative, one way or another, if the player takes the time to do so. Freeing Florrick and the Ansur dungeon could have been those moments, but they don't change anything, and Wyll remains completely passive.
Also, I know Mizora is a cambion, but it would have been nice to have something more than "lol sexo" when interacting with her. Also because she just blueballs us, gods dammit.

I pick up literally everything in the game. I just have karlach pick up crates/chests wholesale and send them to camp, where I sort through the shit when I'm back. It's so much faster than actually opening shit, and you accrue a lot of decent stuff.
There's a shit ton of gold worth of junk in the game, I regularly roll up to merchants with 10K worth of crap in a single crate.
It's a less relevant habit in Act 3, but in the first two it allows me to shop more liberally. Outside of certain one of items from merchants, I mainly do it so that I can bank up scrolls and elixirs.

Hadar is bugged on both types of damage it does, the acid uses a fixed DC instead of yours, and the ice doesn’t count as you using it.
That being said, the damage it does is probably the least important function of the spell. I use it as a control spell personally. If you can, stacking grease and/or spikes on it (which isn’t as involved as you’d think), makes anything entering never leave for one reason or another.
Hadar is good in the same way that its coworker eldritch blast is
