They're doubling down on classes being thematically associated with certain weapons so I don't think we'll see that for a while imo.
Melee Templar will probably get mostly flail skills and Helix/Blessed Hammer makes you think of 1H maces so that skill will probably come out after 1.0 when all the classes and ascends are out unless they make it a spell

I would guess they're going to be much better in 0.3 just due to the overall buffs in 0.3 removing the movement penalties on reloading and ammo swapping and removing the weapon swap delay.

I haven't tried it, but the totems only attack when you do seems fine in PoE2 since you can move while attacking. Also grenade totems sound very good since you can just spam explosive shot and detonate the grenades.

Ritualist is niche but it's fine. Getting free headhunter + rings and ingenuity is quite nice though I'd like to see blood boil and the other line get a buff. I feel as if it could use a defensive node. Possibly deflect based. Witch Hunter is just boring so you're right there. I think PoE1 crafting is better in a lot of other ways, some of which are getting added this patch (actually good essences, veiled mods). We could still use fossils/harvest/eldritch orbs.

Also the biggest one IMO would be adding memory strands and making it so you don't have to pick up 50 item bases per map.

the problem is specific to tilesets, in poe 1 most of the tilesets are pretty old school. you could overlay a grid and easily identify every tile, there are some exceptions but they had time to iron out those kinks in generation.
a lot of tilesets and their generation in poe 2 is more organic so there is more shit to workout.
the whole thing is a twofold problem, even take that video of mathil.

in poe 1 it used to be reduced reservation, which meant if you reached 100 you could reserve things for free. increased efficiency in poe 1 was generally a nerf since now it was impossible to reach a point where you could reserve for free. the formula is pretty simple, it's base reservation over (100% + mana reservation efficiency%), for example if something reserves 100 spirit and you have 100% efficiency, it now reserves 100/(100+100), or 50 spirit. if you have 200% efficiency it reserves 100/(100+200) = 33 spirit, so on and so forth.

I think tiers within tiers for support gems is a mistake, confusing and unintuitive.
The way PoE1 has alternate version of active gems is much better and clear.
I know T3 of Arcane Tempo for example modifies what the support and my point is it shouldn't be T3 Arcane Tempo it should be named Alternate Arcane Tempo or something like that.
I would name them Arcane Tempo (T1), Superior Arcane Tempo instead of Tier 2 Arcane Tempo and Alternate Arcane Tempo instead of Tier 3 Arcane Tempo.
This is yet another example of the severe lack of QA and just in general flawed game design. This T1 2 3 shit is something straight out of a brand new indie game dev studio working on their first game.

Its usually a nerf, however its a buff past 600% increased spell damage (at skill rank 20, lower increased damage requirement at lower skill ranks). 600% increased because 18% increased divided by 6 gets you the new 3% more. While more is multiplicative, you can multiply the more from demon form first for visualization. Looking at poe2dotninja, most builds don't hit that. It also means you actually have to invest in increased damage for it to be remotely close to 0.2.

Any build interested in using demon form in 0.2 just invested everything into defense and was able to get an absurd amount of damage from demon form alone. A perfect weapon set alone gets you to about 400% increased, 2/3rds of the goal. Needing further investment isn't unreasonable to reach the 600% goal, however you previously got all of it for free.

Its also worth mentioning that 0.2 demon form damage past 100 stacks is not only better than any rare weapon possible, but is easily achievable and massive overkill. The recoup version (likely killed or nerfed heavily in 0.3) could hit 400+ stacks Personally my build could be sustain 700+ safely, which was impractical due to needing to be in form for over 6 minutes, made ED look like a crazy boss damage spell.

The Flask version is likely to function well regardless hitting 200-300 stacks safely might feel this nerf more due to needing to spend more points on travel.

Its very comfy walking past enemies as they die, however you have the standard chaos dot weakness of bad boss DPS. In 0.2, without any investment, flasks get you up to 40-60 stacks in campaign which makes it bearable. I'm not sure how leveling will feel now that you're missing out on +3 spell levels right away, but perhaps having a weapon makes up for it. I also used bonestorm as supplemental boss damage while leveling, but use whatever you like.
It also had the bonus that in maps, contagion alone could instakill white and blue monsters once it spread, making it easy to spec fully into boss damage later on.

Last Epoch is okay, I've played it twice and don't want to play it again. It does some things well and some things poorly.
Skill progression system is an interesting middle ground between more classic ARPGs and Poe with a ton of possibilities. Choice between “guaranteed loot” and “trading” factions is excellent and I would like to see something similar in poe. Story and campaign is all over the place but I liked it more than Poe 1, Poe 2 is still much better. Endgame simply does not exist, I have always been saying that it has less content than even Poe 2. The style isn't bad and better than Diablo 4, but it's still nowhere near Poe 1 or Poe 2. I don't know what's up with GGG but only they can make equipment icons that feel right.
I would put it in the same category as Grim Dawn, fun to play sometimes and excellent work from small developers but nothing more.

When the Highlander restriction on supports was first pitched for PoE2 the caveat was that SUPPORTS WOULD NOT BE STRAIGHT DAMAGE BOOSTS!
The whole point was skillls would function on their own in terms of damage unlinked, and supports would be for modifying them to function in different ways or adding utility or new interactions, in which case no duplicates was fine.
The moment jonathan fucking backpedaled and made it so you want 5 supports giving 25 to 50% more damage each the whole system falls apart.

You can see remnants of this past design all over the place, there's supports like Blind Support, Maim Support, Electrocute, Blood in the Eyes, etc. that are clearly legacies from when support gems weren't meant to make your skills do 300% damage from five separate +25% More multipliers. Because nobody is fucking dumb enough to decide between minor utility and 300% damage.
