Usually Tynan implements a much superior framework without all the jank, and with proper UI and menu support. Also faster performance wise and extensible.

However, the content he adds is usually bare bones. There aren't that many psicasts, xeno races, permits, etc.
So the modders can rewrite their original mods to add it as extra content, using now the game's framework to make it more compatible with all the other similar mods.

Well, that was fun.

A small mercenary squad finally dealt with their robot problem. And half of the subhuman population in the process. No faction is dead yet, but we a about to fix it.

No luck with unique weapons this time. 9 years, lots of reform rolls. Still no rapid fire minigun relic.
Very few decent pawns with all these subhuman raiders, as always. Even spacers were either too bad or too dead to recruit.

And yet, that was fun.

I used it for fire and heat resist. I also have fire resist gene.
It's pretty funny to stand surrounded by impids, covered in their burning vomit like it's some kind of Japanese porn and give zero fucks about it.
Works great against scorchers too. They are fast and often manage to attack. In theory, heat armor should work against cyclops, but I've died to them before and never let them shoot in this whole run, so I haven't tested it.

As for the launcher, I've only used it once to clean after a raid. I had to drop shield on the ground and re-equip it after.
I always found the phoenix too slow for my shooters with flat -0.50 move speed, but for melee in confined spaces that tends to get hot quickly it works great even without the launcher.

Phoenix armor is better vs beam weapons, but beam weapons have 50% AP. So a normal quality beam weapon vs normal quality armor effectively gives:
Phoenix: 85%
Cata: 58%
Which makes the phoenix armor roughly 30% better, but still not great and you're still going to full on face tank more than half of the shots. In comparison vs a mechanoid there would be 150% left so yeah, good luck with that. They honestly could have buffed heat armor rating on phoenix a bit to give it more of a niche.

Vanilla Psycasts expanded is fun but also feels OP

Is there a genetic traits mod?
I like the idea of being able to pair up a pawn with Steadfast and a pawn with Optimist to get a kid with both traits.
Better yet, I'd love to be able to pair up two pawns with Steadfast or Optimist and get a kid with Iron Willed or Sanguine.
Combine the two and you get a breeding game where you start with a handful of random pawns with meh traits, mix them to get a generation of pawns with good traits, then mix THAT generation to get pawns with amazing traits.
e.g:

>1 pawn with Pretty
>marry the Fast Walkers off to get a Jogger in generation 2

I like the idea of being motivated to protect kids from danger because if they get hurt they might waste a trait slot on a bad trait.

Most of my colonies last 10+ years.
I never race to an ending. There's no point in it for me. The fun of the game is building an efficient colony, not in completing events or progressing the story. Sometimes I focus on base building and researching to get to recon and marine armor and advanced fabrication ASAP before even bothering to pursue relics or activate a monolith.

Creating a generation of OP pawns with amazing traits and passions then packing them with xenogenes and bodymods before throwing masterwork equipment on them is the same as starting with a single-building base and slowly building it up to be a massive compound.

I use the mod called "ignorance is bliss" for this exact reason. It limits the tech level of factions that can raid you. Also means no more mechanoid raids on your tribal colony. Tribal vs tribal and medieval vs medieval raids are fun.
I usually manually adjust it and enable industrial tier raids once I have my own guns, etc.

Alternatively you could use a mod that adds ammo to the game. This way guns you get from raiders are a limited use power boost until you can make your own ammo.

I don't think it's a huge deal. The biggest issues you'll run into is a bit of performance lag and your colonists having to walk super far to get tasks done if they're clear across the colony. You might have to have some discipline in using allowed zones to control your pawns' traffic.

Longbow itself is just a bit stronger than greatbow and has more range. Quiver makes it OP by cutting cooldown in half because with aiming time reduction any cooldown reduction increases DPS a lot.

And you don't necessarily need trigger happy. Two shooting specislists can turn on the buff at the same time and get -90% aiming time for both. Trigger happy spec is just a bit better and easier to use.

You can't use quivers with modern weapons, but longbows outshine most of it anyway.

So that the silhouette crowd are towards where the spectators are supposed to be. It's correctly facing south as is.

You can put it pretty much anywhere nearby. It should have a line indicating it's linking to the altar. I don't know if it's a requirement, but I always place it so that the interaction spot of the lectern is on the opposite side of the crowd, so the speaker faces the spectators.

As an aside, you only need enough seats for your colonists. Each pew seat can hold 3 people. And your pews are facing south, so the altar is behind them when they're seated.

Diseases need a rework so that there's actual vectors instead of being an RNG "Fuck you". Quarantine doesn't even need to exist, pawns cannot spread diseases.
