Speaking of global's popularity it seems the honeymoon phase is finally starting to die down. It peaked in July with Kita and now it's back down to June numbers, which were the lowest since that was when it first launched. You'd think there would be a sharp increase this week because of the CM but it still seems to be declining. Can't speak for the global thread's activity since I don't check it at all, but it seems like global will keep dropping until it stabilizes at 20-25k or maybe lower.

JP artists will make jokes and memes of specific character traits. Gentildonna being strong is still most of her jokes, Tachyon wanting to do experiments is still a lot of her scenes in the game. You can roleplay that you have a deeper understanding of the "true character", but this is still horse girls with some smart parallels to real life, not the next Umineko.

No Reason has such a well written campaign.
They must have given her to Mejiro Bright's writer because they really didn't hold back on showing how, no matter how hard you fight, time will move on and leave you behind. The Brian's Time spawns realizing that their time is up and deciding to go out in a blaze of glory instead of quietly fading away is a hell of way to adapt the line dying out from Central.
There's also the constant call back to her name and make it a core part of the story. It's such a bittersweet ending.
Also, she's surprisingly aggressive romantically towards her trainer. I thought there'd be no romance at all, but she was going all out against him during Valentine, Christmas, and the ending.
Now the question is whether I put her in action or historical, since her story is very much history focused but the tone is very actiony.

Does JP have any simulators, sites, resources, tools or anything that can compare two horses to see which ones the better one? Or just generally how do you know which horses would be better for the competitive modes and which ones are trash?

Without a ton of room matches that are set up to a PvP event's track and conditions it's hard to judge a better hors over another if they're close in stats and skills, but generally moar skills (esp. golds) that apply to the race will beat higher stats without as many good skills. I've never once done a room match and literally always judge my umas based on vibes for better or worse

I've been playing on the global version while waiting for JP Half-anni goodies to start on that server and I realized I don't really understand how to make a good horse or what makes a horse in the first place. I can clear URA with my eyes closed at this point but I don't really understand what exactly makes a horse "good" for Champions Cup or how to judge the stuff I get.
I could just follow what the guide guys are saying and blindly follow them but then I'd just be trusting their words and still wouldn't know what makes a horse good which is why I want to acquire this knowledge, especially if I'm to play on the JP server and have any hope of ever come close to being competitive.

for starters S aptitude in the distance of the PvP event is not optional if you have any desire to even have a chance. Parents are meticulously chosen/trained to have a shit ton of relevant white factors to inherit and you generally want at least one parent with a strong unique skill to inherit that matches the uma you're training (so for example Seiun's nige unique inherit will do you no good for any uma that isn't also nige). JP sites will point out what gold skills will actually activate reliably for the most impact for each given PvP event, and this can vary if the golds are specific to running position. Your uma will be pretty bricked if she has a bunch of golds that turn out will basically never activate on the event's racecourse, but it's a bit hard to tell from just a gold skill's description so the sites recommend pertinent golds based on datamining AFAICT. f2ps like me generally save for generalist SSRs that are supposed to be the next new epic meta for that support type and don't really shell out for ones that are strong in much more specific situations. It's a good bet to try to load up on more general gold skills that don't need too much specificity of conditions to activate

Your question is way too general to give a concise answer so I'll just touch on CM building. There's plenty of sites around that do the work for you and make build guides for every CM down to which umas to use, which skills to aim for, and which decks to use. I find this one has a decent balance of tryharding, organizing by strategy, and actually explaining their choices. Then, if you want to move on to actually start judging things on your own, you look at skills that are commonly highly recommended/core for multiple CMs and then read what their skill effects and activation conditions actually are on database sites like Gametora/U-tools. You'll start to notice which ones have the best balance between easy/consistent activation conditions, effect potency, and cost. Same thing for umas, you just look up what their unique skill and evolved skills do and go from there. If you want somewhere to start, paying attention to perfectly timing accel skills/uniques is absolutely mandatory for every CM so they would be good to focus on first.

Short answer; yes.
If you build a strong enough character and grab a lot of useful common skills and uniques that work on that specific strategy/track you're building for, having the gold skills are always more desirable though sense their effects are stronger.

What I'm saying is that you'll probably beat people who don't have those specific skills at all, who try to make up for it with either their character's natural attributes (such as their unique skill), rather than those who actually have the gold versions of those same skills. It's safe to assume you'll lose to people who have those gold skills and more; though it really comes down to many factors, such as what time those skills optimally proc, as well as procing in tandem with other useful skills such as midleg skills with carryover.

NTA but I also use that site pretty frequently and it been reliable for the most part as a guideline. Just need a couple of CMs to start being able to sus out what you need to do and what will help you win. I've never done room matches and have only ever tested things out on the actual CM rounds but I'm still able to hover around a 50% win rate. It feels great when you're able to figure things out as the rounds progress.
