I've made a stock for myself ages ago and it worked reasonably well. One little trick I've done was leaving off hand detached, and then I was pressing the controller into the hole in front of the stock when I wanted to aim. It was stabilizing it more than enough, and then I also had the freedom to use the hand as I please when it's not in front of the gun.

If I'd be doing the stock now, I'd just use a long threaded rod, and then I'd print only three parts

I don't know about that. It's a shader and it exists. And some "guilds" (artists groups that do modeling, rigging, setup and shading to work in warudo) seem to work with the dev so they offer "cheaper rates".
However, when I asked one of those peoples to at least share a screenshot of the settings because I wanted to see what I can control in the shader, I was told that it is forbidden to share screenshots of the shader menus.

there sure is, just .text = "something". Your error implies that, well, object reference was not set to an instance of an object, make sure you've correctly linked your TMP textbox to your script. I'm not sure how that works with udon graph, but normally, you'd have a place to put the object you're trying to use in script parameters in unity as long as it's declared as public.

It should be noted that nilotoon is not really meant for the hobbyist. It's sold at big game studios and such.
I am somewhat convinced that you could do those things in liltoon URP. But I think Warudo has no partnership with liltoon, so they can't or don't want to push that shader as much as they push nilotoon in their discord.

In the graph, you define the code, . You have a "general" TMP object type in there, and so code knows that it can set text in there, because it knows that every single TMP has text that can be set. In this script window, you define which exact instance of the object is being used, you're passing the exact specific thing on the scene that you want to use with it. Imagine you'd want to reuse this behavior for two different text boxes.

From what i've seen Warudo URP just gives you a bunch of screen-space and depth based features for stuff like outlines as well as post-processing stuff so i think there's a nilotoon specific post-processing volume and if you use nilotoon you can mask the post-processing on the avatar?

If you have the environment of a single scene and a single avatar you can go absolutely hog wild with FX layering on your avatar.
Slap on tessellation too because why not it's essentially a video production environment.
If you put the money for a Nilotoon license to a good GPU you're going to be able to stream at 60fps with whatever you throw at it.
So you can do things with liltoon like using a duplicate of your entire avatars mesh as the outline mesh and using full liltoon features for your outline
or using liltoon overlay to add a top stylizing layer to everything
baked AO fakeshadow layers etc

I guess a big featur is also the "flattening" mode thing. Very similar to an isometric view, but you can control how much isometric view you see.
That way you can get a better 2D look of the face. You can have a very similar look if you have a great distance between camera and object and zoom in a bit. But with nilotoon you seem to be able to only affect the head, or something like it.

this image also shows there's a nilo shadowmap separate from the URP shadowmap and you can have both which is interesting because if you look at the arms and thighs it does look like there are two separate shadows being cast and they're being shaded different values

so i guess nilotoon is more than just a shader it's a bunch of proprietary lighting and post-processing rendering pipeline tools that all work together so if that's the case it makes sense why there would at least be paywalled

Hundreds, probably. Just the usual singleplayer recommendations (Alyx, Boneworks, ItR) will probably keep you occupied for 100h, and then there's so much more. Project Wingman, HL2VR, Metro Awakening, tons of tiny little great fun games that are at very least worth a try like Blade&Sorcery or Primitier, it just keeps giving.

oh, and if you're even remotely into cars, get a wheel and you can safely assume you'll be using your headset all the time, think in thousands of hours

anytime i played modded mc in the past with different people i got at least 50~ hours of enjoyment, but i think i only got like 5 hours from here

my Bigmeme 2e arrived, here's some first impressions:
from some quick testing on Linux and Win10 I don't have any of the common lemon issues that people in the BSB shitcord have run into so that's good
my bsb1 experience was generally really good so this doesn't feel too different for my optics-wise, but the FOV is likely larger considering I can see the rendered edge on some games if I'm using OXR_PARALLEL_VIEWS=1 on something like Walkabout Minigolf on Linux under Monado
FOV isn't like oldschool Pimax-tier wide, but certainly feels like enough room to look around in; the fovtester software doesn't work under Proton for submitting results and they would be very personalized for my face shape, gasket, ipd, etc. so not really worth throwing out there even if I could get them to submit
I wouldn't say the edges are perfectly edge-to-edge clear but the general clarity does seem good, as some of the text used for Baballonia's eyetracking calibration steps do span most of the FOV and was perfectly legible without any issues there
speaking of Baballonia: it works, but has a long calibration process that can seem tedious so hopefully it doesn't need to be redone often
and yes, it has blinking per eye
I don't have a token so I can't test Bigscreen's own model
a bit of a downer at the moment is that Linux cannot read the Bigeye cams at all, as v4l seems to die and spit out a stracktrace, so that'll need to get figured out at some point
it does feel a bit lighter than the original, but that doesn't matter a whole lot
I'd say if you own a bsb1 and have a good experience with it, it likely isn't worth another $1k unless your eally want to have buil-in eyetracking cameras

Tried vanilla+ with create but that ended up being worst of both worlds, where the create mod was enough alone to bring up all the issues that I greentexted earlier, but it was also not enough to entertain the other anons for long. There is no intersecting space on the diagram, it has to be one way or the other. I'd love to try just full on vanilla+
with no create or other autism mods sometime, but I doubt it will be very active

My first thought would be that people probably won't agree on what's the right way to do it. Some people thought Alyx polished gameplay is exactly as it should be, some would claim that it's shit compared to Boneworks janky freedom, some would praise games for making you move, some would prefer more lazy experience. IMO a lot of the value of VR is actions you can technically do with KBM/gamepad but would need a bunch of very specific bindings/menu items to do. e.g. ITR-style backpacks vs inventory menu. Or complex-ish interactions that a flat games trivialize to "press F to do the thing the developers expect you to do", e.g. adventure game sloppa puzzles like "put sandwich in VCR slot". The thing about VR is that it makes actions that would be trivial and quickly uninteresting on PC because of mouse and KB levels of precision actually fun and engaging because you need to actually do them with your body. Aiming guns is the most common example with needing to maintain a sight picture and aiming being much less precise then people are used to for long range shots, but compare Walkabout to Golf With Your Friends for another example. By default, VRC will visually scale down your avatar, but player collider remains at static size. Bowman would work as it is though, on a flat surface, give each player limited amount of shots and the ability to dodge.

But for now, I really like the plane idea. Super simplified planes that move forward at (slow) static speed and shoot slow-moving particles towards each other feels like a nice little lighthearted party game, and near zero effort to make. Thanks for all of the other suggestions, microwave opening definitely sounds like a proper fun, penalty shootouts are unfortunately not my area of expertise, balance ball sounds fun but i really don't want to be responsible for all of the damage it'd do to drunk anons

Added UI to draw, or other interactions, but clicking a UI button to draw a card is zero sould, so probably gonna make it so you need to click the deck to draw, or have both options.
I also added input for MTGO parsed decklists with Maindeck and Sideboard.

best SOLO horror vr games? i avoided them when i first got my quest 3 because i thought it would be too scary for me but after being immensely disappointed with what kind of gameplay is being offered i might as well try a horror game to see if i can even feel anything anymore, as joy and fun were not felt for the other games.

Cats plugin fucked up my normals when using the separate by loose parts because it hasn't been updated since 2021 and I'm using blender 3.3.21

Do you mean that you have to flip orientation of faces to fix the broken bits? I've experienced that a lot, can't say if it's because cats sucks or because I had weird mashup of gamerip models. I don't know of anything better than cats, but I remember that back then I used to separate by materials, and then separate those parts (that were already separated by materials) by shapes, and then I was avoiding ruining the model. Probably a very specific solution to a very specific kind of a breakdown.
