Combat in general feels a bit more compact. The enemies on Epoch consistently hit me 3 times at once, my charges overshot and got ignored, just the damage counts dont even line up with the swings, mob pulling ranges are strange and sometimes wont even go after you, and just general feel is less janky in turtle for now. I might go back to epoch once it stabilizes a bit.

Don't. It's not just fun at all. It doesn't matter which class you play. You have to play very conservatively. Your talents need to be all about survivability than damage wise. It makes the game even slower pace than it's already is. You can't do caves. Only suicidal people go to Dungeons. Even Elite quests are a huge risk since you don't know how skilled other players are or if they have ulterior motives to grief you.

Even a Mage has to be Frost solely for Frostbite 3/3 ,and never using Blizzard or any of the AoE. Unless the Mage is an idiot. Hardcore makes you hate your life. Not enjoying it.

I think early WoW makes sense for the Tauren. The orcs just saved them from exinction and the Forsaken are brand new and their undeadness breaks the Tauren's hearts as they invite them into Thunderbluff and try to heal them. That was always the case. Horde are just more PvP focused. I'd say its due to vanilla back then making Horde the definitely better PvP faction due to racials and that stuck to this day.
People who like a lot of PvP go Horde. People who like everything about the game stick to Alliance.
So when Alliance players try out PvP they usually get disappointed and just stop doing PvP entirely. Or they go for a premade. But in both cases it kills the PvP scene.
God forbid one of the dedicated PvP Horde guys get told to move over to the Alliance side for a challenge.

I've played most older MMOs but never WoW so I was thinking of trying Epoch since it's fresh. How sweaty are dungeons in classic+/Epoch (they re-balanced)? I also don't play at desks with KBM any more and primarily game on the couch with controller or a simple wireless KBM so oldschool 20+ skills gameplay might be rough.

The dungeons in classic are a test of patience, as long as you communicate with your teammates that you are new they will go at your pace, people often assume every party members to know the dungeon layout otherwise
Mage is the best class to start with if you want to have few buttons to press, and being ranged helps with awareness of surronding, which is a key part of classic wow

There is a button near your minimap to queue up, there is Warson Gulch, a capture the flag map, and Arathi Basin, an objective control map.
By doing those, you gain some map specific reputations, which unlocks good gear at the related vendors, Honor’s hard to explain in one post, but know that it gives a cool title next to your name in game, and some incredible loot if you farm a lot, and you don't even need to be good, just have a lot of free time. If you farm enough honor, you can unlock gear that’s even better than what you get in max-level dungeons!
Battlegrounds are split into level brackets: 1–9, 10–19, 20–29, etc. On Nordanaar, only the level 60 bracket is active, but on fresh servers every bracket gets frequent 15v15s! (Epoch seems to have some issues though >>536230663 )
Because there are so many players in a battleground, being useless usually isn’t considered rude. But if you want to feel like a menace to the enemy team, you can lock your XP at the top of a bracket and fully gear up to terrorize the enemy faction.

I started leatherworking, since it was impossible to level anything but skinning at the beginning. From what I can see in atlas it doesn't really have much at 300 besides gear pieces, which I don't know how long are going to be relevant really.
Should I drop it and try my luck with mining and eventually switch to engineering on hunter? Still don't know how people manage to level up mining currently.
Eventually going to need the ammo and it's going to be very expensive if I don't have mining on any character.

No class should get a free mount.
Free mounts for warlock and paladin were the result of developer laziness. It was planned that they’d both have to do quests to gain their mounts and that they would not be free. The ingame placeholder quests flat out say this. There’s even an area in Desolace that was probably meant to be used for their quests since it has captured mounts there and the mobs there are level appropriate for 40s. But the quests were never completed so they’re just free.
Honestly Turtle Wow should complete the quests. It is vanilla+ after all.

2. Download VanillaFixes (with dxvk) and put that in the wow folder
3. Download all your dlls and put them in the wow folder

There is no dread in raiding on Turtle.
What you said is accurate.
Find a fully progressed guild, join their lower raid runs in literal levelling greens.
You can start doing AQ40 1 month after hitting 60 this way, and you are not trolling since you will have ok gear for it.
AQ40 has good sets for most specs now, and you can get that pretty much for free, but you need some rep, so maybe another month of farming that raid + the lower ones for some particular items.
You are Naxx ready in 2 months.
Depending on your class and spec, you may not need too many consumes either.
You can farm for a couple of hours per week, then just do Naxx and Aq40 nights, or just Naxx if you want.
