I agree, it is hated a bit too much. Though, yeah it is slow as all hell and you need a big roster for it. I had to force myself to play through the beginning slog, and even then that took a while. The mode though is something really different from everything else in the game, and one that is bigger than IS, if you're willing to fully commit to it.

Its worth playing through RA in its entirety atleast once imo.

RA is seriously the worst experience I've ever had in AK. At one point I literally sat there with my head in my hands for a good five minutes just despairing over how much miserable grinding I was going to have to do to get the Pallas skin.

I feel like a lot of early guides on RA1 were ultimately poisonous. Grinding out runs just to build a base to cheese raids while doing the job was simply not fun. It was a much better experience actually intercepting raids. It was a much more fun and varied experience tackling a raid on the actual resource maps as well as the tiny corridor maps rather than the bottleneck everybody made in their base. However the major issue is most raids simply spawned way too fast way too quick. This made Flagpipe or a large amount of Vanguards an outright necessity which is one of those roster checks a newbie is least likely to pass.

The early sack runs to build base strat also made anybody who relied on it offput by RA2 where no simple cheese method existed.

RA3 really just needs to give a whole ton of pipis. If going beyond that, the ability to borrow whole squads as the roster checking is what makes it so hard to get into.

Mlynar and SA are great for farming when starting out but eventually you are gonna be doing all your farming with tools you make.
Defenders are good for picking up stuff at first but once again you will eventually use tools for this, they will fall back to their usual defending role.

Some in game CG's let us know doctor is a little under half a foot taller than Kal putting him around ~173cm tall.

If you want to take the anime into account (which you shouldnt because the director said its only their interpretation of the games story and not actually official) then they also have grey eyes.
