Everyone hated the shitty puns in the tie-in comic IDW put out. Seethe over Reach for the Stars being Sonic's Team Ultimate theme since we were in the Colors shilling era. A few comments dissing Silver's VA. Anons said Crush 40 was too old to make themes now because Green Light Ride sounded strained. There was a lot of fatigue in general. Some anons were more hopeful about it and posted about playing the game, but discussion about it died off pretty quickly after release outside of racist Blaze memes.

Yeah, old school comics had the notion that every issue could be someone's first, so they went all in on getting readers up to speed on the basics.

This is avoided in modern comics now because it is seen as making comics overly verbose which some readers struggle with (as comics are a visual medium), but I defiantly think IDW could use tighter editorial. Plot and character details get glossed over so much in IDW coupled with the long delays make it hard to follow sometimes.

I'm becoming fixated on the missed opportunity of Shadow. The conceit of his character has real world historical roots in the nuclear age and development of the atomic bomb; Project Shadow is just the Manhattan Project. The more I think about it, the weirder it is that his character just doesn't engage with any of the morality of philosophy of nuclear weapons like mutually assured destruction, disarmament, etc. It really feels like he should have kept fighting Gerald's fucked up WMDs meant to destroy the world like a gritty Mega Man.

I think people who hate Sonurge and say it can't happen are kind of dumb. Sonic is the wind? But he isn't in IDW. You made that loud and clear. So why should he have that character restriction?
Surge hates Sonic? Okay. That's the whole starting point of enemies to lovers. They don't need to start dating on the page but what would be good is romantic tension.
