Raph isn't that bad at planning. He orchestrated basically the whole plot. Maybe if he secured the crown and planned very carefully what to do with the powers eg securing mortal worshippers instead of running head first into war and ruling over everyone.

But the thing is he is desperate for people to acknowledge him. Just look at how chill Mizora is compared to Raphael. He writes fanfic about how he will be the baddest devil in hell, malds so hard when he gets turned down by Hope that he crosses his own lines to try and boasts to the player about things they shouldn't know about. Mizora is chill, even when her life is in danger. She loves tormenting Wyll like playing with her food, but she has no delusions of grandeur.

I think it's not even about taking over hell, it's about proving that he could do it. And I really think the reason why he picks on Gale is because he hates what he recognises in himself.

Asmodeus could snap him but I think a lot depends on his strategy. It's not just about power. If he plays it very quiet he might be able to get away with a lot of stuff from the crown without people noticing.

The TRUTH about Ascended Astarion, by me:
The moment you ascend Astarion he is at his very worst. The power he craved his whole life hits him like a truck and is so overwhelming he can't help but drown in himself. His heightened senses, and to quote him shortly after ascension, "My instincts are already so quick, the world seems slow around me." nigga is overstimulated to hell and back. He is horrible because he doesn't know how to handle these new sensations and his mind is filled with ideas of what he SHOULD do following the fall of the netherbrain. It is all too much and he is a grade A mess. HOWEVER with the help of Tav once again he can adjust back to normalcy. Just look at the epilogue interactions, he's still an ass, but he's in a much more relaxed place. This is because only Tav can tame him. And with her unwavering support in the early days of ascension, she can now shape who he becomes in the future. You do not fix him by ascending, but rather start a new game of "I can fix him" on a much higher difficulty setting. Bc honestly, fixing spawn Astarion is easy as fuck. Sometimes you need a REAL challenge and the ascension is just that. The ascension route is not his ending, but rather the beginning of a new can of worms that only the most loving and caring of Tavs can take on. Astarion will come to terms with his abilities, the joys of fatherhood, and the responsibilities that come with being a lord. He will lead an army of dhampir baby abominations, 30 to be exact, and once he and Tav reach that number Tav joins him in immortality, and they rule the city of Baldur's Gate and beyond, until the inevitable heat death of the universe. The ascension route is not for everyone. But the payoff is very well worth it.

If you liked bg3, then the next thing to try is divinity original sin 2. It's by the same developer on the same engine so you know what to expect.

Kotor 1/2, Dragon Age 1-3, and Mass Effect 1-4 are all character driven rpg's with an emphasis cinematic presentation (for their time), like bg3.

Rogue Trader is another turn based, party based, crpg with excellent music and sound design, which is a natural fit for a bg3 enjoyer.

Then you can also play some genre classics to see what inspired bg3, like bg 1/2, planescape torment, vampire the masquerade, fallout 1-4.

If you found that the talking is something you enjoyed in bg3, then try Disco Elysium.

Then after all that, if you find you're enjoying the genre, you can expand to some of the other contemporary good crpg, like wrath of the righteous, kingmaker, rogue trader, wasteland 3, pillars of eternity, tyranny, and many others. Not all of these are stellar games on their own, but once you're at this point you'd be able to criticize them using your own experience and comparisons.

Haste really isn't that good. It's a Concentration spell and it costs an Action to cast. Potions of Speed are superior, and the shorter duration usually isn't a real downside if you optimize well. Some of the Guild's traders also sell a pseudo-Potion of Speed consumable that costs no resources but only lasts 2 turns.

It's better than a short rest but worse than a long rest. It's supposed to be half of all your long rest recover (half the spell slots and resources, half the health) but still recovers long rest abilities apart from special exceptions for Luck of the Far Realms specifically (and potentially other abilities that have not been documented).
In theory it should work for the Haste Spore ability.

Unpopular opinion: I actually liked Free the Artist because the quest to discover the jars and then destroy the reviving mummy was very cool, and it culminated in a fun boss fight. Act 3 is a series of boss fights, which is fun. Raphael, Mystic Carrion, Watcher Titan, Lorroakan (or Nightsong), Cazzy, and of course Gorty and Orin are all really fun bosses.

It's not that the quest unlocks an area, the area was always there. The quest just gives you a reason to visit it, one that's not "I want to consume every piece of loot in existence".
Wanting good gear or EXP aside, doing the Creche content is worthwhile specifically in two scenarios: either you want to keep Lae'zel (since if you enter the pass but begin Act 2 without heeding her desire to visit the Creche, she will blow you off), or (ACTUAL CONTENT SPOILER) you are a proponent of using illithid powers, in which case there is a buff to be acquired there that you may not even get blind since the way to get it may seem convoluted to some.
While not STRICTLY main story related, there are also some cool scenes and some fun fights within the creche. The cut-off for the creche storyline is preceded by an actual "Make sure to wrap up any business you have undone!" disclaimer, and it's triggered by trying to enter a certain area, just like with the end of Act 1. You don't have to do it now, but if you don't you will be severely overleveled if you want to double back to it towards the end of Act 2 (Shadowcursed Lands).

It runs perfectly fine at high settings vanilla or with just 2 or 3, but once I get to around 15 I start getting the nautiloid and even the main menu environments taking like 30 seconds to load in with even worse texture popin, and I dont see how an overbloated anime hair mod would even fuck up the main menu
