Spellboost is no longer a combo deck, it's a control deck. They dropped their Blaze Destroyers and some new variants are even dropping Demonic Call. It's much slower than it used to be with the 0pp Blaze Destroyers and it cut a lot of spells for dirt amulets.

I see. I've played enough tempo and watched enough roach streamers to think I could do well with it. Some of the lethal puzzles that are like "bounce this fairy 4 times, rotate it 360 degrees, preheat the neighbors oven to 350F then knock on the floor with a ladle 3 times" I probably couldn't do but in time I'm sure. My biggest issue is early game and utterly shit draws but maybe they're not as shit as I think and it's just inexperience. I'll start it next set since the deck will likely change a few cards.

Sword golds are better than every single card in every single other deck other than Rune legendaries. The entire game revolves around these 5 cards. A&G, Kuon, DClimb, Amalia, and Valse. These 5 cards determine every single game, every single match up, every single deck building decision, even when these 2 classes are not involved. The entire meta is built to deal with those 5 cards (and failing at doing so).

Every single other ward is situational. Necromancy on 8 is virtually impossible. Alouette requires 2 turns of do nothing, understatted followrs to get the gears, Liu Feng needs 7pp+, Glade needs a large hand size, Edelweiss needs 2 earthrites. Zirconia, on top of being the only overstatted one, is also the only one without any conditions. She buffs the WHOLE board, AND brings her own board with her with 0 prep or conditions.
