Like look, if you wanted to remake Rumble Arena; the mod is the extreme way of how not to do it.
Sure, it can be fun to spam anime laser beams once or twice, but that wears off quickly.
It modern game design that just wants to shove action down the adhd zoomers who get bored instantly, which will eventually get bored of it, too.

Their balancing and vision is also compromised because of whoever finances them, so it's a lost cause and not even worth the trouble or risk angering the horde of autists by giving feedback.

On good side you already have "good" royal knight and especially Hackmon who was written to be a protagonist of his own story.

Personally, I am not 100% fond of this direction they are going. Digimon is literally created to be (V)pet and their old lore reflect that much. They are either born from some sort of data or created by hacker/cracker to do their works. The new direction try to make them Megaten-lite instead but to each his own.
