I use browsercord, even though I have also downloaded and installed the program, because I don't like it tracking every single process that's running on my PC. I run the program only when I need voice chat (ie the very rare times I do commentary) because voice on webcord isn't as reliable.

We're not all the same. I could already see the writing on the wall when dicksword started announcing face scans to confirm the users' ages, plus the fact the EU announced they'll join the UK in requiring them.
It took a while to get to it, but about 20 days ago I set some time aside with f4r and we got a Revolt server running on the wiki server, which gives people a web interface that should look pretty familiar.

It is just an experimental server, and I would like to customize a few things before it goes official (if ever), which will probably mean deleting everything, but I can post the link here for people to play around with it if they want:

Things to keep in mind:
- There's no email verification, you can use a fake email address to create an account.

but... i don't really know how reliant people are on notifications. as somebody who purposefully turns off all notifications, it's my habit to check things manually and keep things in mind when a potential alert could come up to take a look. but i know lots of other people aren't like that and rely on pings and notifications to drive their attention. this is the primary downside of moving to a new ecosystem; those that require that level of alert can feel burdened by the need to insert a new program into their cycle, especially when it is functionally 1 to 1 with something they are already using.

i hope something like this can work for the cup, it's much more user-friendly for organisation than IRC and especially if all these IRC webclients are dying, and getting away from discord is always a plus.

I made my first model from scratch this past weekend and it's a metric fuckton of work between learning the Blender interface, general 3D modeling concepts, PES stuff in Blender that isn't available anywhere except on the wiki or in /aesco/ heads, the other aesthetics files that need to be compiled, then making sure you have the right options set in the edit file. Then there are a billion little things you have to figure out on your first time like making sure the material name in the .mtl file is the same as what is listed in Blender or else everything shows up white, or following instructions on the wiki (AKA BEing a diligent student and using the available resources) that say "just download this template and replace a file and it just works lmao" but the template is for the previous 17 aesthetics system so it doesn't work. That said, it feels really fucking good to look at a model you finally got working.

The dumpster fire is the fanbase at the moment and in recent times, not just the fanbase but the growing circus around the VGL is riding on the /vg/'s coattails. In the last few VGLs there's been a noticeable deterioration to acting like retards for notoriety, circlejerking around personalities, schizos and lolcows who want to make a name for themselves going stupid. /4ccg/ gets noticeably worse during the VGL and the same circus is following them into the 4CC whenever /vg/ appear. It's all the worst historic excesses of /sp/'s fanbase, with fans that at times come across there just because they want the other team to lose so they can bait them more than they care about how well /vg/ does. Either it's the current makeup of generals supporting them or secondary personalities riding on the team bandwagon without actually being involved, /vg/ have a problem fanbase at the moment and it isn't improving.
