Blizzard has spoiled the Horde so much in previous expansions that they consider any deviation from this norm a personal insult. Think about it, they didn't say anything during all the years of WoW's existence when they were living peacefully in Alliance cities that had been turned into Sanctuaries. Some were even allowed to enter freely after they themselves were responsible for the destruction of the previous ones.
But as soon as the Alliance was given even the slightest amount of this, that was it. Crying on all the forums. The same thing happened with the characters in TWW. The Alliance had been following all these innocent genocide enthusiasts for years, and when the Horde had to accept that they weren't the main characters, they immediately started crying.

Because the majority of Horde roleplay was made up of blood elves, and a lot of them never really wanted to be on the Horde, they just wanted to play blood elves. So when the Alliance got customization that effectively let them play blood elves in Stormwind alongside humans instead of orcs and tauren, a ton of people jumped ship and never looked back. You'd see a ton of Stormwind void elves that you'd recognize the same character being on Horde just a month ago; sometimes they'd keep all their info the same but play it as a different character, sometimes they'd write it as their blood elf defecting to the Alliance in disguise, etc.

That's the fun part of the Purge, it's different depending on the faction. In the Alliance version, she's teleporting them out. In the Horde version, she's killing them. This was Blizzard's trial run for BfA which also featured numerous cases of two contradicting stories being told and witnessed in a story with an objective point of view but Blizzard tells them it's "bias". Goblin 1% haste is the 2nd best racial for rshaman. In the rwf the rshaman for echo was gobbo and eventually swapped over to dwarf (which is the best). Rocket jump is fun to chain with gust, and discounts are nice.

How I'd set up factions in a hypothetical WoW 2 set in the far future.

Lore background:
