Red Hood makes me wonder if there's some intended theme in the game of jealousy or inferiority felt towards their grandparents generation in Korea.
We see this with all the super Nikkes being the old one's. And Red Hood in particular has a strong sort of Grandma-era farmer theming to her personality and her alt costumes and such.
I don't know enough about Korean culture to know if there's this strong sense of admiration/inferiority they feel towards the war generation, which is still in living memory in Korea. The people that fought and then built up their country. But the Old One's stuff makes me think of that. I don't know.

SKK spending the entire ark seething over Rapi being temporarily afk and happily erasing Red Hood from existence really had me fuming. Everything about the way they handled Red Hood in the story chapter was a goddamn waste. Even if Rapi "absorbing" RH was always the end goal, we could have had a few chapters of them freely switching between each other like Pyra and Mythra. My recommendations when it's hard to play games is either:
A) Just take a break. Go for a walk. Read a book. Do something else.

Similar to what happened to me then. They release Red Ash at the same time making us bond with Red Hood and witness her heroism, feats and sacrifice, moving you to the deepest level, making it impossible not to love her, even goes to show how everyone that met her loves her and looks up to her (Goddess, Oswald, the public, Cinderella later, and even D.E.E.P.)
Then cue in the by then current story chapters and now I'm back in SKK's skin but the motherfucker doesn't give two damns about Red Hood and everyone but Dorothy (and Rapi) is dead set on killing her and make it so it's final. Sure, he doesn't know at this point who she really is or what she did like we do, but the disconnection with the player is so jarring that it creates such a powerful backlash from the depths of your very being.
Then they throw us a bone that she's still hidden inside Rapi but then kill her again with the merge, serving as fodder for Rapi to supplant her going forward (contrary to what her development is stated to be.)
They build up the legendary masterpiece that Red Hood is and then throw it all away and set fire to it, almost unceremoniously. Then make Rapi a sort of bootleg Red Hood and her surrogate even though Rapi fans liked the original and Red Hood fans want the real thing. It's like they really don't know what makes their game successful.

Honestly with how stupid the concept of human commanders are and how it plays out it might have been better if men could be Nikke (Or Nike I guess) but then shit happens and (You) are the last male unit as Red Hood with the rest of the Goddess squad being your prequel party. Red Hood’s character easily works as a self insert to begin with and having Nikkes glaze you and wanting to fuck you seems easier to write around.

You can even get around having (You) not being part of the crouch shooting lineup by having (You) as an NPC on screen jumping around going gun-fu at certain intervals basically acting as the main tank. Now the fights can have more camera angles than just head on + train. Instead you can mix almost any angle because while your Nikkes are shooting shit up (You) are kinda on the screen aggroing.
