Abyss is a bit fucked if it's a completely empty board. If I have a crypt setup from a turn prior, then mukan tricks can clear it Especially if I have other ghosts/departed stuff in hand. Otherwise I'm probably looking to use aragavy/phildau/odin to kill amelia and then cope/seethe about what's left on the board. Keep in mind that the amelia play is CARD NEUTRAL in terms of card advantage. That's ignoring the mountain of virtual card advantage from from the token generation. Why is draft so unfun?
I thought it'd be more skillful but it feels like its a coin flip as to whether one guy can answer the other guys card or just lose.
Dragon and haven seem particularly egregious here.
And then there's sword and portal who pretty much play as normal.

I can't do shit without super evo because every fucking effect is locked behind it so I have to do it anyway if I want to win. I run 3x copies of the card because I know this applies to my opponent as well. The game becomes decided by whoever was lucky enough to draw more copies of it by the time super evo became available.

They tried to mitigate rng but you still can get fucked by rng except now it's even worse because half the people you are going to fight just have meta decks.

Yeah, unless you like playing against stacked odds. There's very little skill involved, since the number of bomb legendaries and golds is what determines your success. There are people running around with 4 Gildarias and 2+ Amalia, imagine running into that.

Yeah I felt happy drafting a pretty competent deck and then just lost because I couldn't answer haven's lapis twice in a row.
I initially wanted to try for the master flair but I don't know if it's worth all the trouble.
Though for me its more the time investment on top of grinding out to master this set that is burning me out.
Maybe I should pass and just play it here and there when I feel like it.
