I don't see how Zonda getting her song off could result in the extermination of humanity. While Zonda says that adepts world round will be empowered to break their chains, I don't think the next step (eradication of nonadepts) would proceed as she or GV imagines. For one, it wouldn't be necessary for adepts to gain their freedom. She has a very idealistic view that adepts will come together on one single goal and ideal independently, when that couldn't be further from the case.

Reploids are never given full autonomy but it's only logical they can considering they are as smart as humans, capable of having their own wants and cooperate with each other.
Dopplertown failed because of the virus (like everything else in the X series apparently), not because it was not capable of sustaining itself.

That would make Eden's Party even more depressing. Likable and warm characters bantering about and pivotal moments that eventually lead to tragedy being treated as light-hearted jokes are highly effective on the feels.

At least in GV1 and GV2, the cast is so tiny that it would be pointless. GV3 was the first game that could justify having a hub, and it would have been cool to see it gradually fill up with the other swordsmen. Why do these guys sound so wimpish? The soldiers from the first game had badass voices and death grunts. These guys sound pathetic when they die. Well I finally beat both GV and Copen's extra stage.
I feel like a retard for not getting how to hurt them for multiple tries, Copen is similar to Nova in that R cancels his inmunity, and I didn't even remember Copen had gotten the water attack.
Anyway, GV winning makes way more sense the way things went but both had pretty good final scenes.
I do find it interesting that in both versions of the fight Gunvolt is really trying not to have to kill Copen in self defense.

It's weird considering how willing he is to kill in any other circumstance. Joining Eden seems to be a voluntary thing (see Olga, who they offered to rehome, even with her useful powers). A good number of them don't even believe in all the spiritism that Zonda and Desna throw out. The G7 and Zonda respect one another, but they are not afraid to push back when they think she's wrong (see Asroc asking Zonda if she were insane when she vetoed their plans to kill some civilians as retributions for the dead adept pits), joke/play with her, or call her out when she's getting too annoying. Eden is structured much more like a family than what Xiao describes, and they seem genuinely interested in helping/saving adepts.

INTI usually does things like that with their designs. There's a comment near the bottom that says she should have a starry theme. Nothing about being an adept, but with that hair, it wouldn't be a stretch. What they say on the top is that she has an independent and strong-willed personality, is brave and athletic, treats Joule like a younger sister (Joule is furious), and is someone GV can depend on as a partner.

Gibril is one of his favorites. Her character and attack behavior makes sense for an abused kid with a disgusting power and nothing to lose.

Oceanman was an excellent fight and a good shittake on activists. Eden in general is very left coded, made up of revolutionaries and activists from oppressed groups.

Asroc was another favorite. He's a mirror of Copen, and has a great boss fight and interaction in Copen's route.

Tenjian was good too. In GV's route, he's like Copen, while in Copen's, he's a lot like GV, character wise, showing that he can be different things to different people.

He really didn't like Teseo. Fun fight, but Teseo doesn't really add anything to the story or characterization of Eden/the world. Teseo is all about the clicks, attention whoring, and trolling. He doesn't fit with the rest of Eden's themes.

Desna is a one note crazy lady, who turned out to be right about everything. Unlike the other characters, you don't get any of her backstory from the gameplay, which is a bummer.

Zonda is a sociopath. A mastermind and cult leader. A manipulator and brainwasher who incites obsessive fanaticism in others. She's worse than Nova, who was a hypocrite with a massive ego who had the ego to think he could responsibly wield mind control powers over all adepts. She sees her "family," even Tenjian, as tools to further her own aims, as evidenced by her mirror rematch versions being caricatures of the actual people, her willingness to sacrifice them, and her lack of reaction when they die. She set adepts back centuries, and the world would have been better off had she been smothered in the crib. He also wished they hadn't revealed she was a little girl and kept the man/woman design as her real ones. All very reddit opinions. Bad fight as well.

The only places that see her as sympathetic or tragic is here and TVTropes Other than Zonda and Elise, the character analysis is okay, with some of it being great (like Gibril). It lines up with what we would say, though less charitable overall. Like I would say about Nova is that he actually believes his shit and wants validation from others (his major beef with GV is because GV got more attention from the caretakers for his septima). Sociopath Zonda is the most boring way of reading her. It's more interesting if she is legitimately empathetic and not faking it, and that empathy drives her towards her kill all humans to save all adepts plan. He did have some anxiety about not knowing what her overall plan was, but there wasn't really any better option.

Copen doesn't know anything about Asimov killing his dad, Sumeragi covered up the incident alongside his research conclusions, so Copen thinks the top brass had his dad killed for being inconvenient to their desire to profit off adepts.

GV wants to move on and let Mytyl/Joule live in peace if possible, but Copen childishly abandons his sister in her time of need and contemplates if he'll have to kill her some day. It's the fulfillment of Desna's prophecy about him destroying himself and hurting those he cares about.

The difference is that they're indiscriminately killing. Copen does not indiscriminately kill. He does sneak around at night killing random civilians with unnaturally colored hair, but it's understandable as adepts will end the world and an adept killed his dad. The others do not have reasonable justification for their anger and violence, and Copen does not mass slaughter like they do.

Copen's SP skills as a boss aren't meant to affect GV, they reflect how following the clash of ultimate adepts, Copen is just a pitiful normal human scrounging together whatever he can since he didn't defeat a single Eden adept in that route and even jobbed off-screen to one boss.
Zonda could manifest copies of all the G7; Copen can only make a combo with cheap knockoffs of the Sumeragi bosses. Doppler Desire was just a regular move used by fake Zonda, but it's the final attack Copen can muster. And yet, because he's creative with those powers and has the kryptonite bullets to pair with them, they're still more dangerous than some of Zonda's attacks.

First, iX1 is a very different timeline where a lot is unknown. Second, iX2 implies there's routes (particularly ones where he defeats Eden) that lead to Copen killing the planet itself when trying to find a final solution to the adept problem.
Mainline Copen isn't going down a good route after 2. The most sinister sounding theme for him ever made even references his lines in the epilogue.

GV feels regret because he's such a good guy and tragedy follows in his wake. I don't really get this one. If he means in the final fight then it was Copen who decided they had to fight. And regardless of outcome Gunvolt does prefer her safety over being with her in the end. And so did Copen ultimately just in a more stupid way.
