The main reason to run pace chasers for next CM is their potential to set the pace when there isn't a front runner present. It's their best chance of beating end closers.

This is why if you're going pace, you should just go all in on this strategy. Use umas and skills that proc even if you are in first place at the final corner or spurt; it's even better if they also proc if you are positioned towards the front just in case there is someone else at the front.

This is the only way pace can defeat end closers if their stats are around the same. Remember this post when you get obliterated by Narita Taishin over and over and wonder why this is.
