I agree greatly with Paria's complaint that the nature of Sonic stories clashes with what Frontiers wants to be.
Frontiers tries so hard to be this dour desperate story and yet Sonic is simply not the kind of character who can lose hope and because they picked core 4™ to team up with him he is surrounded by characters who have absolute faith he will save them. The moody tone the game wants can't set in and the characters speaking in lower voices doesn't help. It feels like they all just decided to pretend they're in a dark dramatic movie.
