Emphasis on the "strict", that way you can exactly predict when each node will spawn, there's 12 tin ores and 1 silver there, you can get each of them once every 15 min once you got the respawn route figured out, it's the only reliable way to get out of the pre-125 hell I've found

the stormwrought ruins zone isn't bad I rushed the key on my 60, besides the gay ass water run it seemed cool and the mainland with the majority of quests isn't too bad with lots of mobs so good grinding and exp kind of like stv.

What ability lets them reach avoidance cap?
Warriors and Paladins only reach it due to Shield Block/Holy Shield respectively. Bear Druids famously can't reach cap at all and so stack armor/hp to just soak crushing blows which they can only do due to bear form. Unless something was added in 1.18 Shamans can't do this either.

I can only talk about the time before they opened their new realm. There were a few guilds progging, some being more strict than others about pugging raids not done with the guild. For example, the /wpsg/ guild progged from December to July and went as far as defeating a few bosses in Naxxramas. I think there were always around ~10 guilds progging in various tiers.
With the addition of that new realm, I think those guilds are dead or are dying. New players will probably choose that new realm instead of the older Nordanaar one. It's a shame, really. It was nice having everyone on a single realm.

Turtle has many years of development and just launched a new server.
Additionally, Turtle is literal VANILLA+ with some changes based heavily around their views on the original warcraft lore and reject the retail story and it's retcons entirely.
For instance, high levels are alliance and goblins are horde.

Epoch on the other hand is what i'd call a CLASSIC+ with a vanilla skin (as in it's a mix of TBC and WOTLK mechanics and balance limited to vanilla content). Its very young and they've had multiple bad starts before finally getting up and running this month (Aug) and they're doing quite well in population, while lacking any real new content or special upgrades/zones.
The biggest thing they have is dwarf shamans and undead pallies.

I would personally play turtle if you want a vanilla experience, for now. And in a few months you can try epoch once it's confirmed they're stable.

That's my plan so far. I'm new, came to both for the first time ever this month and I like turtle and I like epoch, but given how established turtle is, I'm gonna play there first as I am done testing private servers, I did it for ten years previously, and I just want to play a stable and established vanilla wow rn.

The new Dragonmaw set is strength leather set, giving fire breath to your melee attacks if completed. It looks really good, the head piece is a dragon skull.
The new Stormwrought set is an intelligence cloth set, giving a shadow DoT on 5% of your spells if completed, and bonus damage if you deal shadow damage, see pic rel to see how it fits my tauren.
The devs said there was a third armor set this patch if I remember correctly, any idea on what it is?

The issue with both of these classes are the manner in which they fit into the lore.
As with most retail shit, they had to really retcon and make a lot of "because we said so" excuses to make both classes work.
Death knight's are inherently enslaved to the lich king, they're effectively ring wraiths in the classic lore and by having them "break free" it confuses the lore and the character of individuals
Similarly, demon hunters were a night elf specific thing and they were a high risk option to counter the burning legion and to fight fire with fire, and in every case, the demon hunters expected it was a suicide mission to take on the role of demon hunter (see illidan).

So these things considered, they're AWESOME classes in concept and they move product, but their existence just shits on the lore in every conceivable way; especially when you could get close to those classes and not break lore, like necros instead of DKs (and hell, maybe at lvl 60, make a capstone ability turn you into a lich permanently which gives some unique casting mechanics).
Same with something like a blade master or spell sword, as that's effectively what a demon hunter does, and so you get the crazy med armor melee and you can get demons with a warlock.

What they or some other vanilla+ server should do is the original concept of hero classes. You level up your orc warrior to 40 or whatever and can choose to become a blademaster after doing a class. But a dwarf warrior can't become a blademaster but could become a mountain king.

Yeah, epoch seems to be catering to the care bear pvp crowd, with gear being king which will initially kill off world pvp and in time kill the entire server as one set of pvp geared players dominate in everything pvp and new players can't keep up.

This is why I prefer turtle's blanket 15% reduction so you don't need to stack pvp gear to compete.
I want to play pve, do dungeons and raids and raid capital cities. I wouldn't care if there were no bgs or arenas desu. That's fake pvp imo, unless they normalized all gear for those modes it's just always down to addicts gear checking players who don't grind as much as they do.

At the end of the day, I think the real solution to making world pvp happen is to turn the capital cities into actual open world raid dungeons for the opposite faction.

Generally agree, but this is a cooperative game and a community driven game.
Those people's views on meta, grouping, raiding, and arguing about balance and content direction will all matter in the long term life span of that server.
I saw that same kind of mindset in player type slowly, and then quickly kill off Dark and Darker. The devs in that game changed some itemization stuff, making pvp less about stat checking, they rioted, they review bombed and trashed the devs until they reverted, but by then the game was in a catastrophic free fall and there was almost a gleeful attitude at seeing the game die. Like once the devs did something they didn't like, they wanted the game to die at all costs.
And frankly, I see that kind of player shilling for epoch and against turtle all the time here and in discord and in world chat etc. Literally, Turtle is living rent free in the Gurubashi world chat.

not even close. warcraft runemasters are cloth wearing monks that inscribe tattoos of raw fucking leyline magic on their bodies to get sick nasty buffs and punch the shit out of things with the power of beasts, flame, iron, etc.
they need to go to specific areas in the world and basically meditate at these leyline fonts to be infused with that power, or find a runemaster who already has the power and knowledge to give them those runes.
they were planned in extremely early vanilla as a wildcard class that didnt fit into a typical design philosophy but were eventually replaced with druids. seeing them make a comeback would be incredible.

When it comes to custom classes I would love to see extremely unorthodox shit more than anything else. The vanilla classes, as was mentioned before by someone else, already kinda cover all the bases. It's hard to introduce something that doesn't just devalue another class.
A cool solution to that would be really unorthodox classes, like real wild stuff like

Turtle isn't gatekeeping pvp gear as there is no pvp gear.
You can make gold and buy great gear in the auction house on turtle and get near equivalency in pvp.
You can absolutely compete on turtle if you spend your gold smartly on good gear for pvp, because there are no pvp specific gear sets to grind for.
On turtle, you grind for gold or you grind dungeons and raid, (ie: you play the game normally) and then you can still compete in pvp, whether world or bgs or arenas.

On epoch, the pvp gear is only grinded thru pvp specifically and therefore you cannot compete without grinding pvp, and grinding pvp is where you see this shit.
It's a non-starter, chicken or the egg situation. Like retail, people except the most faggy retards will quit when they see it isn't about skill, it's about who's grinded pvp gear longer.

You can't get inside the area beyond Tyr's Hand, at least not intentionally. They redid the map around that area for some reason too. Probably back when the Scarlet raid was more in the headlights.

Warrior really doesn't feel that much different on turtle, especially prot. In fact I'd say the overall experience is a little worse than Vanilla.
Which is annoying considering how much love other classes got (especially Paladin which is obviously the dev favorite).

I leveled on it a month ago and never had any problem, 3k daily is still a pretty big number
It's been a pretty fun leveling experience overall aswell
My only peeves are that turtle pvp suck ass and most of the outdoor endgame is just meta classes (rogue/smite priest) and meta races (undead) roaming around killing blue geared timmies in 2 hits
