It's not a coincidence that Gheb appears in only Ephraim's route. Eirika is the otome route, the only ugly villains there are Pablo and Riev, who are old men. Even the other villains like Valter are handsome.

I think so. IS is pretty autistic about keeping the gameplay of the remakes as faithful to the original as possible so I imagine the Einherjar will come back. Most likely use the FEH art for the unit's cards and maybe their Legendary art for the DLC Einherjar. However, I think they'll expand the number of units per game to like 12. Taking just Fates and adding all the Fates Royals plus Azura and a Corrin puts it at exactly 10. I imagine they would want both Corrins even if most people only give a fuck for Femui.

Awakening does a much better job of standing on its own, it at least has some popular characters and the crossover slop is mainly easter eggs. Other than that it's a sequel to the Marth saga which is preferable to crossover slop. That stuff is mostly in the DLC anyway.

Engage WAS their attempt at making Awakening post-3H. They have literally said the game was modelled after Awakening and it was supposed to do gang busters like Awakening and introduce millions of new fans. I don't think they'll be remaking any of the 3DS era games any time soon after seeing that bomb horrifically. When they were asked what the point of Engage was they literally said "to be a new Awakening", it's the only reason they made the game.

We aren't getting any new FE projects until 2027 at the earliest. Which will probably be a completely new standalone entry where another company heavily assists them again and the writing and character design are entirely outsourced. I don't think it will be Koei because they're busy with their own developments and most of the 3H staff have been promoted to leads on other projects. But I would bet Engage's underperformance has them shook. They were trying to make a game they thought their fans would like but they made a game that was everything their fans hated, the "we don't know why people like fire emblem" issue has only gotten worse.

Engage is just a total disaster. Its trying to be popular for the sake of popularity. It has characters from other games. It has 7+ hours of cutscenes.
The game is stuffed with rubbish like online and minigames to the point nobody could even enjoy the game for what it is. Somewhere under there is a mechanically complicated entry that some fans could've had fun with. But even that is buried under the worst plot ever and Somniel dog shits to pick up.
Not a single person can play this fucking game and enjoy it even for what it is.

I beat every game in this series, most multiple times. And I can't even figure emblem skills out completely. Some skills get replaced, only work when synced and some I swear don't even show up properly unless you go to certain screens. This is just the tip of the iceberg in this fuckfest of a game meant to expand the audience.

It's a good thing that Engage wasn't 'a second Awakening' because that game is fucking dogshit that plunged the franchise into a dark age of slow, shit releases and spin-off slop for a fucking decade.
