layering is a bit different because you can have 100 people in the same place but not all be able to see each other because they're spread out across layers. Epoch has partitioning which is more like the game world is split up into partitions and each partition is its own layer. what's happening is that people aren't being pulled into partitions correctly so like orgrimmar has a partition for the auction/bank area but for some reason it's not pulling people in all the time, if it's even meant to at all.

So now I'm level 20 and have really been enjoying it. The fact that basically all of my gear has been crafted by myself and is actually pretty good because of the epoch changes is a kino feeling. I haven't even had to grind at all because there are so many new quests and every now and then I'll get a commission for lw that involves me farming light or medium hide which can net me a few bars of exp from all the kills I have to skin.
I also have no quest addons installed so every custom quest has been completed by reading the text.

Basically, I recommend signing the contract if you aren't in a rush to 60 and want the leveling experience to feel fun again.

Even with all the bugs, broken quests and talents, obvious pvp balance issues, faction balance issues, failed launch, uncertain future of the server in Ascension devs' hands and so on, I'm having more fun and I feel more alive than I ever did playing on retail/classic servers ever since I started in Cataclysm.

Something about private server alliance communities is just so fucking soul and comfy.
No gdkp/boosting niggers, no griefers, people chat and group up, they're willing to interact and add each other, banter in world chat, crazy interactions and adventures in the world.
It's just pure unadulterated soul that blows the classics 2019 launch out of the water.

Ive even gotten into groups before I started looking because people whisper me directly from /who or add me and ask to play again
It's kind of crazy how many friends you can make as a semi competent tank. All I do is have skull marker on a keybind, get the group to follow it and everything goes smooth, damage gets piled into the skull rather than spread around all 4-5 mobs, I can handle threat like this and the mobs dont stay alive too long to where my healer runs out of mana from keeping me up
Keeping a good pace through use of throwing weps to add more enemies if needed or doing 'breather' pulls to keep the itchy DPS happy whilst my healer can take a second to drink, after all, one mob isnt going to trouble me

Warlock has essentially infinite mana if you nab Dark Pact and Felhunter Mastery. It's a little GCD intensive, but I have no problem with mana at this point. Very excited to get Unstable Affliction in a few more levels too.

Tbc is probably the closest thing to what I'd call balance in 1v1 duels (wotlk ruined that with the addition of DK and reworked paladin) but nonetheless there's some match ups you just don't win.

Feral gets destroyed by healing dot classes with cc like warlock.
Warlocks get deleted by browns.
Warriors lose to tanky specs like feral and paladins and specs that can deadzone kite them like hunters.
Paladins lose to dispels and mana drains.
Hunters don't lose to anything because of current state of pets but once nerfed they will have a bad time vs dots and self-heals because they have virtually no healing.
Rogues lose to everyone because PvP gear inflated hp pools to a fresh lvl 60 in the 30-39 bracket.
Mages lose to everyone unless they're good, then they hardly lose to anything maybe with the exception of ferals and warlocks.
Shamans are a meme class that delete someone in an instant and then do nothing till the next chain lighting/windfury proc. They have no way to prevent cast pushback which makes them extra rough vs hunters and cat ferals.

Is 1h and shiled tanking as a warrior good here? Or do you just go with a 2h?
