Speaking of challenges, I completed the 10 kills with tactical weapons one earlier today and 2 matches later I got an error telling me it couldn't load persistent data, and all my challenge info was reset to where it was right before I completed the tactical weapons one. As an added bonus, it saved me completing the win a breakthrough round one, but did not award me the pips. DICE intends to make my brief time with 2042 as painful as possible.

Oh I thought they came out tuesday morning. It's still fine. It's better to do the challenges later because later tiers need more xp but the challenges always give the same amount of pips regardless, but you don't NEED to do them early. Just makes your grind a little bit more tedious, like a couple more hours of grind.

Honestly it's not a big deal, there's going to be at least 1 maybe 2 more double xp weekends before the release of BF6 so even if you can't rely purely on challenge pips you'll easily be able to grind them out even at 25k per pip

it's not. i've run the firing range. the 433 is exactly like the m4a1 only it's TTK and 12-25 range is worse than the m4a1. no amount of attachments make the 433 better than the m4a1 at the most competitive ranges, 12-25m. unless they make a radical change like assault rifles doing MORE damage the further they are carbines will be the meta and these screenshots don't seem like that will change.

Battlefield 2 had the best helicopter physics in the entire series, by far. The upside down spin was a very common move for dodging the TV-missile.
It is also done in real life, but as far as I understand, not in combat, just as as stunt in airshows.

The difference might come down to what attachments they get. Different ammo types or grips or whatever. The AK had the super headshot ammo in the beta so that helped make up for its otherwise shit dps compared to the other carbines, for example. We don't have the full picture yet.

You can take another type of grenade as well.

I did a calculation:

Total battlepass blips (10 per level) - Battlepass Mission blips left = total grind needed

600 - (4*3+5*3+6*3+10)*6 = 270
600 - (4*3+5*3+6*3+10)*5 = 325

So if you are level 27 or higher at this point and haven't done any of this weeks missions, you don't need to grind at all. Just do all the missions.
If you already did this week's missions, then you need to be 32.5.

Obviously, doing the missions themselves will get you some of the "grind" xp. So there is some wiggle room.

I don't think it will have a honeymoon period. BF6 is already considered extremely underwhelming in most online BF spaces and with a price that absurdly high and honestly kind of subpar marketing outside of the beta, it won't do waves at launch as if its a brand new hyped f2p shooter.
People who already preordered it will play it for two days, realize that its 2042 but with worse gunplay, less equipment, less vehicles, less maps, less big maps and worse floatier shooting, and then give up on it.

Despite running 120fps with reflex on boost, 6 feels incredibly floaty to me. That's why you make them suck at killing things. Doesn't matter if its been that way since the start. its been a broken combo since the start. An overwhelming large amount of the top players have mained medic because of its insane fast healing. Far too many people play medic solely because of the on demand self heals. And assault has lost its purpose as I believe both 6 and 2042 made it so you could have grenade launchers on other classes as weapon attachments. And sure you have the gadget one, but I rarely saw that thing provide a value equal to that of a medics healing. If no other classes had grenade launchers of any form, then I could see it. But even still in games like bf2, medic was insanely strong. if not meta. At the very least they need to nerf the shit out of its weapons so its basically close range only. And they get dominated at medium+ ranges. I.E not what it was like in bf2 and onward

assault has the OP dual noob tubes. and even if you nerf medic guns youd be nerfing all the other classes guns as well because carbines are meta, engi would probably be hit the hardest since relying on smgs when youre on big maps is a big no no.

top players are medic because they understand you can't rely on random teammates. you either wait 12 sec for full self heal 90% of times or just use the medic bag on yourself. nerfing medic weapons essentially just means you want to fight players that would out play you normally with a handicap that has the players fight you with less than full hp, which is really cheap design.

Problem with those launchers is that they're great in those small scenarios (and a bunch of idiots who joined in for the hype and stand in a nice grouping). But I have a feeling in the larger maps we're going to see those drop off. I don't think I see anyone use grenade launchers in 2042, for example. I'd also be curious about Bf4. I played a few rounds a couple of weeks ago, same story. Didn't see anyone using grenade launchers. So I have a feeling that on the large open maps (liberation peak and bigger), those are going to seem far more effective.

The reason you point out why top players are medic is exactly the reason I think it should be changed. You're saying top players don't like to rely on teammates and go solo. I think all classes should have some kind of reliance on others to play. To me, that's what differentiates BF from other FPS titles. Yes, you can't be a one man infantry killing machine. Getting hit means you need to go find a medic or get with teammates. Maybe put in a gadget on assault that gives you temporary health, like the ard shot but temporary health. I do get that this is a very unpopular stance as, with so many video game genres right now, the vast majority of audiences want to be self reliant in their video games. So I understand why they do it. Gotta make a "bad" battlefield to be successful.

most of the maps aren't large maps. and even in large maps there will be a house some squad is camping in you can fill with fire bombs for free kills.

Disagreed, and we've seen neither does the playerbase. This just means everyone plays medic, like in BFV where they tried attrition. It didn't work because nobody likes following random teammates around begging them for hp if they want to play some other class than the self heal class and not be artificially disadvantaged in a gun fight.

BF is way less of a team shooter than let's say Overwatch or Marvel Rivals. It's a casual arcade shooter and adding heavy team reliance when you have such a large team and no SBMM would be insane. Even in OW2 where you just have 4/5 teammates people tilt insanely fast because sometimes your teammates don't perform adaquately. You do not want to bring that to a casual game with no proper matchmaking.

You always have been able to. In 1942 you had the thompson which wasn't as good as the BAR but you still easily held your own. Why do you want to gimp medic so badly? Front line medic has always been the most rewarded playstyle in these games, it's the bread and butter of infantry playstyle which IS the core differentiator between CoD and BF, ie. being able to run between bodies reviving your teammates and hoping you stay alive or get revived yourself. If you make medic the healbot class then you make it MORE of a generic fps, not less.

Its pretty clear that medic has some insane strength in these games for the reasons you listed. I just don't see it as balanced/good design. People like it, I get it. Its casual. But its still poor design.

It's the most hectic playstyle and the most rewarding, I think it's balanced/designed well on the fact not everyone wants to play like that. The reason there are so many roof camping snipers or LMG campers is because a lot of people don't care about optimal performance and don't care about the hectic playstyle that it requires.

I want medics to have versatile or powerful guns so that I can play other classes solo without having to worry about less revives and heals
It's a smart carrot on a stick approach where those selfish medic sweats are indirectly helping the team by deploying those big ass medibags on the map and it increases the chances of getting revived

Playing 2042 with all the new players thanks to bf6. Holy shit. These people got no sense. People not healing, not giving out ammo. So so so many recon players that don't place down spawn beacons. Engineers not repairing/ignoring vehicles. So many engineers not using rockets. I've asked them why and was told "I get more guaranteed kills with C4. I use rockets and they can't kill infantry. And I never get tank kills". I hope to god they don't give C4 to engineers at release in bf6.

Sadly most of battlefields design since 2142 was appealing to the lowest common denominator of the community, as its by far the largest.

The whole point off 6's portal is that it doesn't need that shit because its full on modding. It comes with DICE's official mapping tools and allows any asset importing. Anyone can create any maps they want in it with any modification to the games. The devs already talked about how their Portal playtesters have made stuff like zombies modes, top down shooters and parkour deathmatch type stuff like cs go's surf.

I'm glad that BF3 portal lets me recreate my dumb Suppressor/6x Scope/Bipod SCAR-H setup from the BF3 days. It should not have worked as well as it did even considering I waa playing on PS3.

I thought it was just a battlefield zoomers decrying people for wanting server browsers but I saw this comment about another game that ditched server browsers in favor of a player hub where you need to walk through the hub to start matchmaking every single time instead of just pressing 3 buttons in a menu to join a server

it goes so deep you have to understand UI design is more about behavioral psychology. they have telemetry on all the aspects of your interaction with the game client, and i have no doubt they have also modeled some way to see how likely a player that gets constantly killed by someone wearing premium skins is likely to want to buy that skin. this is where the whole nitty gritty of EOMM (engagement oriented matchmaking) comes into play. they can do cool shit like putting a high KDR player who wears a certain skin into a lobby with players that often buy premium skins as an example. then once the player buys that skin they can give that player a bunch of lobbies that have players that are all significantly lower KDR than he is. these systems obviously don't work with lobbies everyone can join and need obscure matchmaking algorithms instead.
