It took me forever to play this VN, but I'm very glad I did.
Obviously it's not for everyone. There's a lot of gore, and even more rape. I didn't jack off a whole lot.
But it tells a very interesting story far beyond what you might expect. Part The Ring, part Heaven's Feel, even a smidge of Higurashi. It's well worth your time, which imo is a tremendous compliment as far as VNs go

People who've read Umineko When They Cry, what are some of the flaws and/or things you didn't like about the Visual Novel?

I'm asking this because the series has kinda caught my eye recently and I've seen people almost exclusively saying it's the best thing since sliced bread. And sometimes, when I see something get really hyped-up, I try to find a good argument for the alternate perspective on the work's quality because I'm curious as to the reasons why somebody might've not enjoyed it as much as everyone else seemed to.

Now I don't want this to turn into a "lol, umineko sucks" circlejerk or anything like that, I just want to hear out the minority perspective on this particular topic. Oh, and if you need to reveal any spoilers to make your case, go right ahead, you just might wanna leave a warning before you do.

Does Fate Stay/Night Get Better?
I'm like 5-10 hours into it and so far it's good, but not sure if it's worth sinking 20+ more hours into it. The characters are good not great, the fights are good not great, I can understand why it blew up but is it really that great? I like Shirou and the cast, but it feels like it's just nothing but 1-hour-long fights and there's not a lot of "weight" I suppose, or not a lot of progression.
