Did you even WATCH Sonic X? Why the heck are you even posting all of these Sonic X pics, then?

Sonic X was Amy at her "worst", 99% of the time with that Series 1 finale as the one exception. They heightened all of Amy's worst traits just to have Cream and even Chris soak all up all of her better ones. Amy is supposed to be passionate, but they made her angry and aggressive and violent temperamental just force a stupid "Tsundere" gag that shouldn't exist within her at all, and because Cream's own cute sweetness got misinterpreted into just being Amy's cute half incarnate. Sonic Heroes didn't do that, Sonic Heroes actually used Amy and Cream correctly and it was great!

But you wanna sit here and tell me that a "sanitized" version of Amy was popularized by Sonic X? SONIC X IS THE REASON SO MANY PEOPLE HATE AMY IN THE FIRST PLACE. AND THAT IS THE REASON WHY BOOM ENDED UP CHANGING HER WHOLE PERSONALITY INTO THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF HERSELF. Knuckles is as strong as Sonic is fast. Sonic is as fast as the Flash. Sonic is faster than light.

This means Knuckles' strength is equivalent to that. Equivalent to "faster than light". That also means that Rouge's leg strength is on that exact same level.

Amy was spending Sonic Battle working her way up to be stronger than she used to be. Rouge entered the scene already being able to cause earthquakes just by dropping her hips to the floor, and that is no joke.

Yes the player can free themselves just like with cetain other enemies. It still brings Sonic to a halt taking away the player's speed and adding more seconds onto the zone clear time thus decreasing the score.

Sonic's Speed = Knuckles' Power and vise-versa.

As rivals, their abilities are pretty much equal all around. Sonic is strong enough, Knuckles is fast enough, but brute strength & martial prowess is Knuckles' advantage. You don't know what an antagonist is. It doesn't mean she's a villain trying to kill him. It means she's a narrative foil. Her core desire, to settle down, is in direct opposition to Sonic's, which is to be free. That creates conflict. That creates a dynamic. Your version, where she's just a so-called cheerleader, makes her a useless accessory with no purpose.

Your "actual, official canon" is a fantasy. The games show a girl who wants to trap the wind. That's her function. She's a domestic anchor in the same way Sally Acorn was a strategic one. Both exist to be a force of stability that Sonic's nature rejects. You're just too blinded by your fanfiction version of the character to see the one that's actually on the screen.
