General advice about the character and their buttons / specials on Dustloop should be fine. For combos, tech, or combos you can usually find some youtube videos, watch some livestreams of prolific players etc, or if you're so inclined there are discords dedicated to the game / specific characters with people you can train with (or so I've heard). Many characters specialists / streamers for the game also have discord servers where people play specific characters and make cool / weird tech etc. If someone here plays your characters you can also ask / try to play with them obv.

9k health akuma just doesn't really practically change the matchup that much, like you might kill him in two touches if you do a good 3K hit and then block a DP but more often than not you're getting him in 3-5 strikes while he gets absolutely everything and the kitchen sink to compensate

Did people in all these years of Strive figure out if the special camera angle during big CH combos actually had any effect on how the combo could be constructed or was it only for purely visual effects?

it doesn't make a huge difference in SF6 because the numbers are closer and gambling in that game is so ridiculously risky that Gief dies just as hard to getting shimmied as anyone, but there's a 30% ehp difference between Pot and Chipp, that's an enormous aspect of balance, and with the way Guts works in Strive with the explosive damage it usually turns into a more than 30% increase in number of touches to kill because Pot is much harder to delete from a high health total before Guts kicks in so he can take big risks early, lose and still need a couple more touches to kill in a situation where Chipp or Zato would literally just die instantly.

New ranked matchmaking is kinda boring in SA. Slayer puts himself in situations where he has to use BDC shit to make his other options scary when most characters just have a simple frametrap/tick throw/pressure reset thing. Like yeah if you block P Mappa or get hit by K mappa he's minus but can BDC Bite to grab your mash or c.S or 66 throw to steal a turn, BD Dandy>UP or PB etc, but so can basically every other character when they get to put themselves in an advantageous RPS situation in pressure, he just relies on BDC iframes to make his shit real, whereas someone like Jam just doing 5H on block has all the same parry whiff>throw/2D/2H>2D/6K>6H/236S etc etc and all her shit just enforces itself instead of relying on iframes to win any RPS interactions at all.

OK so what this is trying to teach you is that you can block the opponent from using Burst by using an Overdrive (AKA a Super). To get enough damage for the mission you'll either need to combo 1-2 buttons into the super (eg close slash > super, or close slash > 2H > super), or have it clean hit. After many losses, he finds the tactics that eventually net him wins, but that's the extent of his capability. The moment they face a real fighting game player, they get washed. They cry that their character is bottom tier, or their opponent is carried, anything except facing the reality that they are a s*ivebaby shitter, who themselves are carried by the game itself. They couldn't win in a game that didn't simplify the entire game to an RPS tier guessing game enforced by claustrophobic stage size, weak movement, huge hitboxes, and frame data that doesn't allow for ingenuity, that forces you to play on the rails. Follow that with the reward of huge damage combos and hit confirms so easy that the newest beginners can pull them off with little to no practice, and you have the perfect formula for shitters to enjoy a "fighitng game".

his damage is low, his mix is a little finnicky, his DP kinda sucks as a reversal, and he's really meter reliant because he needs to use a FB or FRC to get away with things in situations where other characters have a meterless option, but he has very stable neutral and simple but consistent pressure, and when he has meter he's got some of the most ignorant tools in the game. He's a little underwhelming compared to the nonsense that most of the other +r characters get up to but can still hold his own and it's not uncommon to see a Ky in top 8s, and +r has such a high skill ceiling that tier lists barely matter even at tournament levels, there's so much room to simply be better at the game than your opponent.
