Props for actually answering. I don't particularly mind Canto 6 but "I'm you from another dimension!" had a hard time landing with me just because of how fundamentally silly it is. Yes I realize it is plausible in the game's lore but I prefer stories that don't rely so heavily on that aspect of the story and are a bit more grounded in the particular world of the game. The whole story was a slow build up of Ishmael's angst, her attitude towards her team, them taking her seriously when it comes to her familiarity with the region and the threat they're facing, etc. It also utilized the cast really well (bringing Outis' leadership qualities into it for instance). Had great music too, like the track Negative Sail. It definitely hit a crescendo during the final dungeon but I think that's true of all the cantos. Exploring the Lob Corp facility with the creepy "frozen in time" stuff was awesome. The only thing that felt like "filler" to me in Canto 5 was the part where they had to unlock the path by finding the 3 switches in the water or whatever it was. Sorry it didn't quite hit for you but Canto 5 was definitely most memorable overall for me. And yes it helps that I really like Ishmael but she's not my favourite by any stretch.
