It's not the "fault" of M+, M+ massively improved gearing, adding weeklies, vault, prepatch "catchup" gear that are heroic raid quality (ring, belt, cloak) and delves on top of it made gearing too easy.
Not that I mind many sources of good loot since I like to play multiple characters but delves, weeklies, heroic raid quality "catchup" from the previous patch make it way too easy to gear at the start of a season, a more linear gear progression would be better.

Honestly I think the current gearing system needs a lot of work but blizzard is content now on never rocking the boat. I don't mind it so much because it gives another way to progress if you aren't getting drops. The track part feels bad though because I'm wondering do I spend a spark on this piece to make it tier, what if I get a drop later in the week, or if you're not wanting to waste a spark on say champion track gloves that would complete your 4pc but have had bad luck getting hero or mythic track gloves. I guess I understand not wanting players to get gear in LFR and upgrade it to 700+ ilvl but there's a season cap on crests so that would only get you so far anyway.

The biggest issue is mythic raiding existence and the RWF affect on mythic tuning. It's a meme mode that nobody wants to engage in because it's an insane amount of output for little reward.

Raiding should be 1 difficulty that consistently rewards the best gear in the game (no tracks) along with +8 keys and 11 delves (but gear is actually unique, so a delve item might be a stat stick while a raid wep has a wildly useful on hit affect). And the difficulty over the course of an expac should range from normal to mythic spread between multiple raids per patch.

My biggest issue with the crafting interaction with gearing is you can just legitimately waste your craft. I also don't like how you can waste crests (for example runed crests on a non 701 piece). I haven't actually crafted my 2nd piece yet because I want to see if I get a 1h or a 2h for choosing between ascension or dawnthread embellishments. The amount of trap keys I've experienced is legitimately insane with the introduction of leaver penalties. I had a 10 eco dome where a fury warrior wore a shield and said he was a tank. All you need is 1 other person to side with you and people are trapped. This has been a long time problem with blizzard, when they were more openly talking about their issues during SL they admitted they had a "rockstar developer" problem where a lot of devs were known by name by the community and felt like they were unquestionable because of it, as time has passed and the games popularity has waxed and waned that's obviously not totally true anymore but the culture problem is still there, devs like Josh get their names out their to the community and people know them and they suddenly start to feel like they're untouchable and all decisions they make are 100% correct

Nobody makes tanking to be hard. It is not hard at all. Literally all you have to do is to learn routes and pulls - this is the only thing that differs tanks from healers and dps. On par with healers and dps you also have to obviously know fight mechanics, but even with mechanics - as a tank you have to know and to worry about less mechanics that healer or dps. For tanks it is mostly to just not stand in shit and to kite mobs/bosses out of shit so that dps could reach them.
Any damage cooldowns you have are completely irrelevant and you can drop those randomly or even on-cooldown - it will change nothing, because your dps as a tank is shite unless you are a thunderclap spamming brown man. You only have to be more or less reasonable with your defensive cooldowns, stuns, and interrupts. But even if you fuck-up your defensives, stuns, and interrupts - probably you will be carried by a healer. Also, if you fuck-up some mechanic in general - it is extremely much more forgiving on tank than on dps or healer, because you can survive anything that is not a one-shot mechanic.
Don't pull too much, keep an eye on healer's mana, don't stand in shit, and help with cc/interrupts - this is your tanking 101.
