Yes, it is a problem right now due to a lack of weapons. In the Monk area, for example, will be dagger/trap nodes. It is easy to see how a monk ascendancy might use daggers. Eventually the Marauder area will have Axes, and there is no reason you can't play Titan with axes or Smith with axes.

As long as ele conversion remains as post conversion only and spells don't have any form of added damage, the actual way to scale damage is quite easy to conceptualize. I did acutally run out of space for buffs.I was using permafrost bolts which were triggering cast on freeze pretty reliably, and had 3 cast on freezes with frost walls and shit going off. Another issue is it's more like a dodge healthbar than a dodge chance. So the first time you hit it's rolled, but after that you just build up dodgy-hit-energy and are hit exactly every 4th time, for example.
