Sony intended to take it down but people threw a fit about it so they kept it up. Suits me just fine since I can do this. There are limitations now if I remember right but those did not affect games or dlc so I did not pay it much mind. As for why I do not want to play it on the PS3, originally it was for convinence since I was using a gaming laptop when I initially wanted to emulate it years ago. Now that I have built my own pc I am back in the room with the consoles so now it is mostly because I dislike the controller for it. I could use a PS4 controller but every time I try to use them now there is always some kind of connection issue on either the 3 or 4. I also never boot them, or my other home consoles up anymore. Lastly, it does perform better when emulated, yes.

While I said I was gonna buy it and then shit on IFI with a review because the port probably sucks, I thought about why should I be giving IFI my money when nothing will change. NIS is in dire straights right now, NISA shouldn't be too far behind, or perhaps a magnitude even worse than they are. I'm the first person who mentions the in this thread and...I just looked at recent Famitsu sales, the game is missing in the top 30 and more recently top 10. I can only hope that the digital sales of the game kind of make up for it considering that Japan is buying more digital games little by little.

Problem with CH games from the very start is they always feel half-assed mechanically and then try to carry themselves on fanservice. Which is a pretty niche appeal, makes it too cringe for normies to talk about, whether in japan or outside.

The first game at least tried to be unique. But you ended up just spamming the same one combo in every fight, without input queueing and with melee characters having to awkwardly jump into range every time, it was just a pain. 2 onward was just a straigh-up worse version of the trails series in terms of combat, giving you less information and fewer options both in equipment and in battle. Which was also reused for Fencer, and with minor changes Varnir and DerQ. Skelter also feels like an inferior dungeon crawler, on the level of spinoffs like persona Q or Refrain.
