I don’t see it being that good. Sword is powerful because all its followers flood the board and have strong fanfares. Trading that away for loot generation seems silly. I think the pure loot deck will die off for a hybrid build.

I don’t play roach but forest now has a tremendous amount of good cards. I could see forest being very good roachless this expansion playing a more controlly deck.

All the new cards are really bad but it will still be one of the best decks.

I think dragon will be very powerful now. I’m not sure what version will eventually take shape but being able to cut back on the heavy 9/10 cost cards for the newer ones makes the deck way more consistent and not get bodied early. Most people haven’t experienced the amount of healing and clear dragon can push out.

Personally I think abyss will end up tier 1 right next to midrange sword. The versatility it offers now lets you tailor board states in your favor and reserve resources better.

Not technically true but essentially yeah. The problem is that ramp is a stupid mechanic in every card game but MtG has made it evergreen. Due to how Shadowverse rotation works, dragon always slowly inches in power every format as it gets new cards that play into its gimmicks, and then eventually it hits a critical threshold where it becomes broken all at once because it's either received enough ramp cards or enough ramp payoffs that it can now do its ball breaking plays consistently. And then eventually rotation removes one piece of the puzzle and the deck plummets down into unplayability.

if you look at the rune cards added this set he instantly enables the mechanics for the entire archetype in a way that's much more powerful than playing by the archetype's rules. the issue is the cards in the archetype were designed by a child.
