It’s incredible all the weird quirks she has to her character and how it can be taken any way. It’s hard to put into words the weird sadness-nostalgia-repression-yet still hopeful thing she has going on while also having that darker side of herself. Interesting to note that out of everyone, we seem to know the most about her specifically. I intuitively pull design ideas from vintage clothing. I use to help run a vintage clothing shop, a lot of it comes from being constantly surrounded by and obsessed with vintage clothing, also dressing like a popstar from the 80s helps, so I’m bias on the way I want things to look and the inspiration they have. I would suggest browsing through or… window shopping on Depop, Gem and Grailed, looking at items from all eras excluding the 2000s and onwards. Looking at old designer magazines or watching old runway videos are also good options. Clothing back then was just more interesting.

You don’t need to follow a book or a specific technique, I didn’t. But you do need to understand the physics of the human body (and everything in general).
For anatomy, the way I learned was by looking at my own body and paying attention to how everything interacts with each other, natural resting positions, skin squish, muscles constricting like fabric being stretched and pinned, ect. If one of your poses looks awkward/ stiff/ wrong, do it yourself and see where everything should be. You don’t need to be the same size or physique as the thing you want to draw, the way the human body moves is *mostly uniform and you can adjust proportions to characters as needed. At some point it becomes second nature and you don’t have to check.

“Look in mirror” is a troglodyte answer, but it’s unironically the single best way to grasp the form of the human body and it’s weight physics. Struggling to draw hands? Look yo hands. Struggling to draw feet? Look yo feet. I’m surprised more people don’t talk about doing this, you are literally the answer. As for actual artistry, the biggest tip (not to be confused for Tenna’s) is not drawing sketches in strict lines, unless you want the product to be line art and not something rendered in a 3d effect. Real life doesn’t have line work. If you want to do the latter, sketch in shadows. That doesn’t always mean doing the thing where you completely map out your art in greyscale values before adding color (personally I find that to fuck with colors in ways I don’t like), but it means giving a semi shaded frame to the body that maps out anatomy in a believable way. By doing that, you improve your work tenfold. There’s a lot I can say, but taking to YouTube and looking into how light and shadows works is something you should always do.

It's trauma that didn't lead to mental illness. She's deeply wounded and longs for a connection that snapped off years ago, but rather than spiraling into anguish she simply moved on.
Actually, I think saying she's got lots of hope is super accurate too. Something I don't see anyone talk about is when Susie sees the final prophecy and then says "I hope every day stays the same" like it's hope. No, I think Susie doesn't have the same sort of hope that Noelle does; noelle truly holds onto hope that things will get BETTER, not go back to how they were. A lot of the villans (Tenna especially) want to turn back time and make it like the good ol' times, but Noelle seems to be happy to live the life she has right now.
Idk where to go with that information but she's so delightfully inspiring in that sort of way, where she has some sort of inner strength and resiliency that hasn't been broken despite the adversity in her life

I get the feeling that Deltarune is a sequel to Sans’ and Papyrus’ journey in Undertale.
So Sans would have a reason to be fond of Toriel’s company and desire to save her in chapter 4. Sans would also overcome “I will never see them again” after his experiences with being around lightners who are like those in his original world, all except Susie, Kris, and Ralsei. Thus, even if though they’re not the FUN gang he had back then, they’re still the FUN gang he desperately wanted to save back then.

And Papyrus would be trying to figure out who he really is after whatever you do to him in Undertale, and try to be a better knight than he originally was with Undyne’s advice.

Think of it this way.
SANs had photos of the previous world he explored (which wasn’t Deltarune or Undertale), then in pacifist he is in a community with the Undertale cast, but in the goner event with ‘Suzy’ he pulls out the “Don’t Forget” picture of Susie, Ralsei, and Kris. So, he’s planning on leaving Undertale to Deltarune.

Personally I think he should also go the route of final fantasy and have overarching themes but with new ideas on concepts like how summons are guardian forces in ff8 or how you control them in ffx. I dont mean it in a literal sense but moreso the concept of how he can reinvent ideas and themes and mechanics he uses across his games.

The easiest example I can point to is the humor, while its not all horrible there were multiple points where I could tell the jokes were being written by someone who was a fan of undertale rather than the creator of it. Toby is an unoriginal hack that steals jokes from other games, Im not going to say he's a master comedian but at the very least blatant meme/reference humor is something that tends to be below him, and when he does do it its either something nicher than among us or has a little more to it beyond "Hey guys look, I can make that joke too!". Something like "I was chuffed by that dart" is a line Id expect to see in deltatraveler. All the jerking off of the ralsei plush as well felt like it was written by the twitter crowd that thinks fumos are the funniest things in existence. On the flip side, in the same chapter there's the quick sand joke that I think shows off how Toby himself would make a direct meme reference. Its not something thats constantly referenced by others, and seeing it in game is very out of the way as you have to actively skip the drain puzzle to find it instead of it being required reading for the story. Humor is a big part of Toby's writing, so if any of the jokes are very clearly not made by him it actively takes me out of the experience
