It's ridiculous logic for anyone who knows how mare works, but most people will just take from it what they want to take from it.

The real reason mare is gone is because profits are down, and some out of touch old man in charge saw that people were wearing better shit than was available in the cash shop, and thought it threatened their sales. That's all it ever comes down to: money. Notice the shop is selling more modern shit that makes you wonder if it's modded in when you see it for the first time? Like, the alternative set, I thought that shit was a mod when I saw people here wearing it. They want that audience, and they feel threatened by visual mods undermining that. However, yoshida played mmos his whole life, so he knows that what people want more than simply wearing the outfit, is to be seen wearing it by others. This is why instead of targeting glamourer, he targeted mare.

Of course, he can't just come out and say this. So he has to make up an offended raider to be angry for, or an angry paypiggy to defend. He's doing it for their sake, not for the shareholder. Forget the fact that modders often purchase cash shop gear to look good vanilla-side for people who don't/won't sync with them. Forget the fact that modders use glamourer to preview cash sloppa and often buy it when they like it enough. Forget the fact that basic piracy logic exists, and someone who was never gonna buy your shit isn't gonna buy it when you punish them for getting it for free. We're operating on old businessman logic here.

Ironically, if the game were in a good place financially (as it was in the first years of mare's life), I doubt they'd even mind. But now it's sinking, and they need something to blame, and mare users put themselves on square's radar.

I think about some of the people i left on crystal sometimes and miss them, but i also know i burned all my bridges and don't really regret doing so. I hope they are all doing well regardless and hope for their best.
