That said, just in case you don't know about Archipelago and this may be an option for you still, it's not a multiplayer game per se; rather, they are different games connected to a server in which they share items necessary to progress their respective games. Players can access the server and play their respective games at any given time, so you can just pick up the game you chose in your spare time and do some progress at your own pace.

It'd be nice to play an Archipelago run with anons here, either make something silly like everyone choosing Super Mario World, or the traditional AP experience where everyone picks a game they like.

That comment earlier was honestly spiteful for no reason other than let go off steam on this general constantly fighting... but if I were to give a genuine thought, I suppose one thing could be the Paper Mario fanbase itself not having too much faith in the remake to begin with. I mean, franchise saw three to five considered disasters in a row (one of which being kind of debatable), M&L saw two debatably underwhelming remakes and a disaster, so makes sense why sales kind of went on the hesitant side for PM.

Because the pairing gets the most development and attention from Nintendo. It's the most developed relationship next to the brotherhood between Mario and Luigi. Of course people will be attacking you when they're getting breadcrumbs by comparison, if even that. Seriously, in the span of roughly a trimester this pairing saw TWO murder attempts IN A ROW and that isn't counting the amount of shitpost it attracts on a regular to the point you're hesitant to talk about the pair in here.

Is SNES NSO's CRT filter fucky when Docked for anyone else on Switch 2? Trying to figure out if its the Switch 2 or my TV. It looks like it's skipping frames sometimes, but not always.

For example, if I get hit in Link to the Past Link will either stay invisible or solid because it's not alternating frames, but sometimes he will flash as intended. I thought it was some strobe protection but like I said, the effect will show normally other times. If I turn off the CRT filter it will act as intended always.

Another example is with Super Metroid where shots will sometimes be invisible because they use that strobing effect, but not always.

Kinda funny people asking for spin-off characters for the Mario party-genre games (Kart, Party, Sports), when we don't even have major main-line game characters in them, Odyssey is one of the best selling Mario games and hasn't had a single of its major characters represented yet, poor Cappy is a playable character and still hasn't had a major appearance after Odyssey. Simply put, Mario as a franchise has very little room for romance given its setup and tone, let alone as a priority. You can do it and make romance a focus, but you'll be making compromises on the franchise's charm because it's completely off the original experience (I should know, that is the compromise that I always do when I write a fic)

That is also why I say a SoL would suit a Mario series the most; give us colorful characters doing silly banters and having unique moments of their own; that'd be just golden (and if you put some small bits of romance sprinkled throughout, all the better).

With the Super Leaf power up, Boom Boom, and the platforming obstacles that were originally in SMB3 being brought back here, I guess 3D Land is more *3*D Land rather than 3D *Land*, it even has a power up that let's you turn into a koopa enemy, although it's the Boomerang Bros rather than Hammer Bros, only thing missing is the Frog power up, the Koopalings, and the Kings.

I do really want some help resolving problems emulating N64 games, though. ParaLLEl Launcher not only disables shaders nor has any downsampling, meaning the games always look terrible on my regular flatscreen HD monitor, but it also seems that it's also messing with my NSO N64 controller, limiting its range (to a square, I think), rendering it unusable, especially for SM64.
Setting up said controller on RetroArch is also a nightmare and I think started showing the same problems anyway?
But meanwhile I can't get my saves to work on Luna's PJ64 fork, and I'm in the middle of playing Paper Mario, Mario Golf (I only just now unlocked Luigi :( ), BAZR, and Rogue Chaos.
I did try some archaic save converter tools that are the only ones of their kind but L's PJ64 pretends the output doesn't even exist despite being pointed directly to it.
