It's really fucking funny that Bungie approved this NetEase mobile game project half a decade ago because they needed bailout money after splitting from Activision and going independent. Fast forward all this time, and Bungie is now in active competition with a company they licensed the rights to their own IP to and barely acknowledges that their product exists. The main game has gotten so bad and is so hopeless that the non-canon Chinese gachaslop mobile game spinoff is genuinely seen as the superior and more interesting product and there is a chance that Bungie might lose some of their own dwindling player base to it.

I downloaded it to try it on a mobile emulator, and played through the first two missions (your guardian's resurrection and acquiring your super). Controls are super clunky (at least in LDplayer it is a mess to assign mnk inputs to random stuff), the humongous mechas added to the lore are weird, the protagonist's super is a roaming melee solar blade thing, weirdly fitting. In-engine cutscenes are surprisingly dynamic compared to the original game, Bungie look fucking lazy compared to the Chinese. I expect the gacha pulls to be utter cancer without throwing cash into it.

There's lore in D1 and D2 regarding guardian strength, the light/darkness can be used to grant inherent gains, but titan armor was noted as also enhancing their strength even further and titan armor is apparently really fucking dense/heavy. There passive tower dialog of some jokingly putting on a titans helmet and it leaving them with a sore neck. Ive said it before, but guardian powers in lore can be pretty fucking crazy

I have the virtual device set to Vulkan, maximum graphics card usage, unlimited framerate, all that shit turned on. In-game settings are all dialled up. I should be getting like locked 120FPS but I’m getting what looks like 40-60 most of the time. What’s up with that?
