I think the main problem though, is actually damage breakpoints. Bayonets don't add ENOUGH to make melee noticeably better on targets you would actually consider it.
Standard melee still usually oneshots scavengers. Sometimes it takes 2, but, usually 1, and it taking 2 is rarely a big deal.
Standard bots are stunlocked by it so it taking one or two less doesn't matter, it still takes multiple so you're not doing it in a pinch.
The jumpy bugs still get parried by the one normal, and you usually just reduce from 3 to 2 to kill on them, this is unironically the best usecase.
Hunters are still mostly unviable to melee, this just buys time for someone else to shoot it, bayonet or not
Devastators are still unviable to melee.
Melee is still ludicrously ineffective against Voteless for whatever reason (I suspect it's because it usually hits that motherfucking shoulder hurtbox).
Melee is still laughable against overseers.

So it's ONE enemy, in the smaller jumpy bugs that the bayonet actually makes sort of a meaningful difference on, and even then it's mostly just making the parry easier, and 2 shot vs 3. Usually. Bayonets don't really make melee viable against anything the base melee already wasn't, like proper melee weapons do (sometimes). But you pay out the ass for something any other gun does only slightly worse.

The ammo capacity isn't an issue with even on D10 because I reload often so no real issues weaving in reloads on between shots. Honestly it just feels better to shoot and I crunchy SFX from each shot just sells it for me. D10 whatever

Light armor + shield backpack is more effective than heavy armor + warp pack, and it's not even close.
Heavy armor should have aimpunch immunity, headshot multiplier immunity, and reduced ragdolling.
A ship module upgrade that provides very slow health regen while out of combat should be added because heavy armor users would get more use out of it than light. Either that, or let us shoot ourselves with the stim pistol and reduce its healing rate drastically so it's much more of a slow burn over a significant period of time

Mechanically, any enemy that died to one pump from the halo shotgun dies to one pump of the punisher or halt. Any enemy that dies to two pumps of the halo shotgun dies to two pumps of the punisher or halt. Any enemy that dies to three pumps of the halo shotgun dies to three pumps of the punisher (and this is the point where the halt starts falling behind). What this means is that you have less ammo, but have to fire the same number of rounds for most enemies. And to add insult to injury, the halt has a med penetration tube, so it's better at crowd control than either.

voteless work like any other unit with constitution (aka bleedout) HP. If you do enough damage to them in a single attack to deplete both their main HP and their constitution you will kill them with no follow up shot needed. It's why an EAT or quasar to the heatsink of a hulk will kill it instantly, not leave it flailing around with a broken and burning heatsink like if you blow up the heatsink with a liberator. It's not the damage transfer to main doing it, the heatsink only transfers 60% of the damage which isn't enough to deplete the 1800 main HP, it's the EAT is doing 2000 damage against the combined 900 regular HP and 650 bleedout HP.
