Because summons only get buffs when they are summoned or something, I don't know the exact details. But it is buggy and they get 2x the buff and it is permanent for as long as the summon exists, I think. In Hypatia's case the summon appears before buffs happen so it makes her weaker. Eventually they will release more support.

I've had quite a few different runs and weakspot was the only one with which I got my ass beat. The LP + Jane team also struggled a little, but they could at least kill Shin's mobs. Still upset about dying with weakspot, Bianca is so cute and she had no issues with battles before the last boss.

It's basically a constant cycle of being scared until you get Shin because everyone is almost always two hits away from dying. But it can get fun. If you have every upgrade in both realm steles it doesn't feel too hard once you have someone to keep your team alive since you can also dish out a decent amount of damage.

if there's no boss on the stage burn (specifically hestia) is good. her regular ult jumps to another on screen enemy after it kills something so if she's buffed up she's a perpetual death machine
this doesn't always work perfectly because some stages link the next set of spawns to having all the previous wave die but even then she's still good

The only "secret" secret in Eternal Nightmares I'm aware of has always been about getting the right ending and small hidden events that are sometimes highlighted in the mission list. But I'm not really usually someone that explores it fully so maybe someone else knows.
