Today I went through the test folder for the game to see what older versions of things existed for filetypes that I'm familiar with to see how they look in the final game.
One of the testers had a folder with a bunch of test ENV files for Sunlumeo street. ENVs are basically what dictate the lighting, color, etc. of the environment, so I tried loading those in to get an idea of what Grand Trad might've looked like early in development. There's 7 of these in total and some of the results actually look pretty nice.

So all of these files are actually for the Tyrant Star portion rather than for the palace itself and most are for the final look of the area (which makes sense because Melancholia Depths looked pretty final lighting wise in the first trailer). However, the first map past the entrance has a file that turns it into this - they were at one point considering a very dark purple with red accents look for the Tyrant Star. I think the deep red suits it better but this is still pretty nice looking.

Metaphor just made it as low as E33's price point from launch in a sale almost a year later and E33 hasn't had a sales update in that entire time despite the devs deliberately hypebeasting with them, I wouldn't call it anything like that
French slop probably didn't have to pay much for the marketing because of daddy's connections, but E33tards think the game eclipsed P5 because it got to 3 million sales much faster than vanilla P5 that was Sony and JP only for 6 months at over 2x the price so in the end none of this really matters or ever mattered. I would feel bad for the devs for inadvertently fostering a community they personally don't like but I also didn't like the game very much so I don't really care that much lol

The game gets progressively easier as the story goes on, so enjoy a bit of challenge while it lasts.
But anyway, some bosses still require tactics and planning, it won’t be a complete cakewalk especially on your first playthrough, when you don’t know what to expect.

Why the fuck did they make a dungeon that purely fucks over some classes? Anyway, I'm actually fucking loving this game so far, I paid zero attention to it because I thought it was some side project but this feels like a full fledged persona 6. Genuinely very interested in the story and I really like both Strohl and Hulk. So far I have Strohl as a phys attacker, MC as magic and Hulk as a tank/healer with inherited multi heal. There seems to be a lot of enemies that just flat out resist all magic though, Strohl has to do nearly all the work.

How easy will it be to level archetypes later? I'm all in on magic for the mc so I don't know if I should branch out to level others

Archetypes get easier to level when you have at least one maxed out for your whole party, from there every 1k exp you get becomes an item you can use on any archetype you want

It’s pretty easy in the late game, especially if you’ve already maxed out a bunch of other archetypes. Also, you should still spend some time working on of More's requests or at least give those archetypes Hero Fruits if you don't feel like doing it.
And don’t make the same mistake I did please check what each SL level actually gives you, some of them might seem boring at first, but they’ve got Da Good Stuff™.

Also, being able to retry battles from the first turn and paying informants for enemy information in advance is so fucking good, takes away the gamble of charging+buffing for several turns into a strong attack that the enemy just repels.

That’s not what I meant. On my first playthrough, I just didn’t bother checking the Ability Details on SLs at all. It’s honestly not that complicated they’re your average SLs in terms of mechanics.

Beat the baby in the castle. I also like Heismay a lot but his awakening just didn't hit like Strahl and Hulk, and didn't feel like it had much buildup either. The second dungeon is way easier than the first, which feels like the usual reverse difficulty curve.

Are endurance, agility and luck all that useful? My MC is full magic but I'm thinking of being a madman and maxing both str and mag.

Just got to the port town, is the next dungeon really infiltrating Lucifer's ship? Feels weird going inside and presumably beating up his guards when we're supposed to be pretending to be on his side. I guess there's no new party member yet?

Also, the routes to the side areas from this town look relatively complex. If I take one day and go to the forest, and the tower is another day from there, I can't teleport to the forest and then shorten the trip to the tower from there, right?
