Have Galahad be a bigger presence than just dumping him at the last minute in OC4. Definitely should've have him be the one to tell us that we needed to go through these ordeals instead of Not!Romani, would have given us much more urgency and gravitas since he was the last hurdle we were going to face before Moneybills regardless.
Also they could've implemented the Apostles way better, they really reveal how much of the writing is by the seat of their pants. Koyan should have been one as well instead this unrelated third party because what we got instead was a stupid mess of a character and Chunguska only exemplifies that.
OC1's and OC3's big problem is that most of it is unrelated to anything going to the main plot besides a few bits like the vague gesturing of Sion's whole mystery box deal or how humanity refusing to launch an Archtype out fear of being left behind (not that different to Moneybills' wanting to keep humanity forever on top), so having them tackling that more would have been better and not feel like such a waste of time. Personally think OC1 would have been better if it was used to set up OC2 by having the playable Apostles be involved and foreshadow the Count a bit more than just relying on the Olga quests, instead doing some grail war that most participants didn't care for or had not that much lasting effects. Like, I get why they used Lev in there, to showcase one of his other personalities and relate to the Alter Ego theme, but everyone else besides us, Duryo's imouto and Sion were unnecessary and retreating to done to death ground.
Mashu's arc is horribly handled, and the easiest fix would have been just better pacing. I know Nasu has a terrible habit to just shoving everything important at the last minute, but the way Mashu waffles about for around 7 years, only having a few sparse showings of growth and then rushing through everything at OC4 is just amateurish.

I've said it before but I don't know how many people really get it, a character being "for you" and having bond scenes with the protagonist is actually for their benefit, not for the benefit of the "Stinky ugly self insert, I hate self insertfags so much". I know people here really hate any character being for you, but it tends to help their marketability by about 100x. A character has an easier time showing their appeal if they can have relationship value with the protaganist, compare Kiyohime with Tamamo, one of them clearly has a stronger value. Kiyohime has a fun relationship with the protag, Tamamo not being for you ultimately means she has no relationship with the protag, there's nothing to draw from.

It all comes down to Olga and Marisbury in the end. David Bluebook? Connected to Specimen E aka Olga. The real Alien God? Olga was still meant to be its vessel. Why was the original plan fucked up? Once again, because of Olga. What's Olga's actual purpose? Why did Marisbury create her before he even had the funds for Chaldea? Ultimately part of Olga and Marisbury's story. Like yeah, I get that there is a lot of stuff to cover (why the Human Order became unstable in year 0, "you're 2000 years too late, Animusphere", what the fuck they were doing at Seraph, etc.), and that both Olga and Marisbury have a lot of room to cover in their characterization, but since it's all focused on them it's not like bigger in terms of content than the average long story chapter. Just think of Babylonia or LB7. I think the bigger issue isn't how much story it has left, but that it has to get through that story while also being a satisfying resolution for Part 2 with everything that comes with it (aka bringing back Servants for fanservice, references to old chapters, big epic fights, etc.) and balancing that with the Animsphere story that feels almost very personal in its scope.

part 1 was a very straightforward story; since mashu was the main heroine and she had been around actually doing stuff we just needed the resolution to her arc to create an emotional climax. the other big plot character was romani, and while i don't think he was handled perfectly at least he was constantly around as the loser-ish boss voice. even if he wasn't exactly solomon, the big bad was the same guy that challenged chaldea in the 5th singularity, he had an obsession with mashu due to her limited lifespan, and big baddy plan about wanting to erase death. even if the story didn't progress much until the final chapter, it didn't need to. they even just hand-waved lev away. one of the (if not "the") emotional climaxes of ending is resting on olga of all characters, so nasu can't just jump straight to the end because he delayed her character arc in lb7. and with the antagonists chaldeas is just not really a character (yet), we don't even know what the fuck it is. and marisbury is still a mystery nigga in fgo for some reason. the biggest issue, though, is that players just won't be satisfied with another solomon; solomon was the culmination of 1.5 years of build-up, an appropriate conclusion to a story of the scale of part 1. part 2 has a much larger scale, and it has lasted for a lot longer. the biggest issue for the ending is that it has to justify part 2's length.
