I have a few suggestions:
1. Learn animation cancel.
I can't tell you how good this is, separates good ultrons vs bad ultrons. Basically when you use up your shots, time it properly and melee. You get a instant reload and you can keep shooting.
2. Learn to track
Ultron's biggest damage is done at the ending of his shots that do alot of burst damage. Tracking is important because you can deliver the full damage of the beam. HIs weapon was really easy for me to pick up because it plays like the Opticor from Warframe, which was a weapon I played with for years. But I digress, next one is important
3. Targets
Aim for backline. Ultron can literally snipe he doesn't need to be close like Torch or Ironman. I love bullying supports and squishes. I rarely go for tanks unless they are low. Honestly your target priority should be Supports = DPS -> Tanks. You should be trying to enable your teammates. So I have no problem using my ult and killing Duelist even if supports aren't around.
4.How I play
Always have an escape plan. Hug corners. Be annoying as you can be. Always try to build ult. Ultron builds ult fast. Before you ult you should Thruster+Q for the extra speed. BUT only do it if you can escape or you know your teammates will cover. Don't ult too far away from your team. I like to keep my drone on my tanks and supports, but always try to make sure it's healing as many as possible, when your team is grouped.

I can't tell you how many times I've cucked Groot from his ult. They Grab my teammates, and I ult keeping everyone alive and killing groot at the same time

Also, Threatening to swap to Ultron when your teammates are playing bad actually is a good motivator for them.

Walls are your friend. Just try and build ult and aim for squishes. Don't be afraid to ult to keep your team alive, if your tank or support has ult but they are gonna die, ult and keep them up. 90% Ultrons ult just to kill which isn't using his kit properly. You're rarely going to kill tanks because of how much healing they receive.

Balance ONLY matters at the highest level of play and no matter what shitters believe, should only be done around it. You can't 'balance' heros for shitters that don't use all parts of a character's kit or use it improperly, it doesn't matter what kind of adjustments you make it won't make a difference. Hela can't do 350 damage on headshots just because people have a 25% accuracy rate and a 3% crit rate. Small changes like nerfing SG because her brain damaged hold left click style was too strong in low elo is fine but you can't keep characters like psy/torch in their current state because a majority of the player base lost half an arm in iraq

Depends a lot on server, day and time.
For example, in my monkey land server, almost none plays ranked, and I have a horrible time ranking past Plat 2 (5 minute wait times for a game you know you will win or lose on loading screen). But if I get past that hellhole, and reach GM, the game becomes far more easy, because you almost always match with people that have game sense and actually want to win (so they pick decent heroes, actually try to counter, etc) and reaching Celestial becomes trivial.

You get into one of those lobbies where people ignore it, let him do collatoral sweeps across the team because supports think huddling near teammates is a good idea and then they die to him because they're playing a character with 250 hp
just back up, heal your team, keep an eye out for him and ping when neccessary, if your team aren't helping the two supports and they're having to heal each other for 10 seconds at a time then they wont get healed, its that simple.

No, they do not. Invis "escape" is very unreliable because it is broken by any damage, which can even be from the very enemy attacking you because it has zero invul frames. Invis knockback is unreliable as well, because it assumes you have it off cooldown which isn't always the case. Even then many divers can tools to keep diving her.
If you want to hyperfocus on that Hulk video, Invis would not have been in a good position to avoid dying at all. Hulk can close the distance, Hulk has a clap he can do the moment she tries to jump away or even just keep attacking. Invis has no answer to Widow's headshots there and has no self heal mid combat.

It's a similar scenario with C&D. The brief moment of Dark Teleport would not have been enough to get away from Hulk or Widow and then she just walks. Again no self heal, unless she would decide to stand in a small area for medciore hp/s with dagger storm while getting attacked by Hulk and Widow.
