If Epic wants to continue to milk Fortnite they either need to reinvent the BR modes or make new modes that are actually good. They could make a class shooter. Add different gamemodes like push the payload / king of the hill / plant the bomb, etc. And then add different classes that people can choose from which each have different abilities or weapons.

It would be difficult however to make it competitive, because the variance in playermodel silhouettes would make it hard to know what class each person is playing. (The only solution I could think of is maybe adding a small symbol above each person's head that shows their class).

But yeah they need to try other stuff because BR just isn't it anymore.

Overwatch and Marvel Heroes sells you on the characters themselves, Ballastic can't compete with CSGO and Valorant because they're just simply better games with more experienced devs under their belts and for class shooters, outside of TF2 there's no market for them anymore. You can't expect to retain an audience when it launches so half baked. Compare it to Deadlock where Valve "launched" a closed beta with a ton of maps and a dozen or more finished to half baked heroes they're still tweaking and it's only building popularity before official launch.

Nothing Epic can make competes because they fired all their talent, refuse to hire legacy and only pay out to celebrities and 3rd worlders or israelis.

OG needs to be exactly like season OG, every season needs to be 40 days long max and get quick updates every 10-15 days.
Reload was a neat idea but needs rework now that we have Blitz.
Blitz is fine, maybe it just needs to reduce the number of bots.
And regular BR/ZB needs a QA team of people that actually playtest the mode and stop dripfeeding the gameplay content.

I think the writing was on the wall when they laid off those 800 members a couple of years back. That's hundreds of people that could've easily been utilized but instead they most likely stretched everyone thin with all these gamemodes and because of it BR suffered immensely too, especially in the live events department. It also REALLY doesn't help that we still got the Disney mode still happening too and that thing is supposedly hogging up more resources than anything else. I have to wonder how much Epic is just purely being funded by Disney at this point because their presence is just everywhere.

On the contrary, the issue I have with the game is that I feel like the skill floor has risen too much over the years as people have gotten better at it. I can't keep up with these ADHD hyperactive kids anymore. If I want to secure the vicroy I have to play like I'm on adderall, because that's probably what these kids are on. In the past I got vicroys by just playing as I normally do, but that doesn't cut it anymore.

I feel the anons expressing how burnt out they are with BR. Honestly, the only real thing I get on to play these days is Ballistic. I used to tryhard in Rocket Racing due to the exclusive car cosmetics, but it's a poorly-made, unpopulated bugfest, so I haven't touched it in several seasons.

That said, more than the game modes getting stale, I've found that the quality of people you encounter through solo queue is just broadly worse these days, and has gotten worse with each passing season. Rarely any mics. Mostly wandering soloers and antisocial grumps who'll curse at you for no reason and ragequit randomly. That's even if you're lucky enough for them to speak English and not drop some "trashcan mic Spanish sounds.sfx" at 120% volume.

I don't know what I can look forward to when the players aren't amiable, the main modes are stale, and Creative 2.0 never gets anything good unless you dig really deep into obscure niche community mode weekends. Feels bad.

I agree about the visual issue. I can't remember the season...some season in late CH3 or early CH4, but they updated the lighting, and everything was so much more striking. Lovely saturation, beautiful moving Autumn-colored grass and swaying trees, just gorgeous whether you had resource-sucking Lumen/RT off or on.

I'm just not having fun, and I keep trying to convince myself I will. Yet, I play, and I get malicious teammates/leavers, the pace feels sluggish, and the map looks dull. I just wanted to have fun and not be socially ostracized.

Augments were only fun during C4S1. And Epic fucked up mainly because two reasons: first, instead of being the first 3 common augments and a really good final one, they pooled every single one into the four you could get during the match, so you have a ton of people rerolling for the good ones; and second, because you could reroll to get the good ones, the match winner was the player who could get the OP augments in less rerolls. Instead of fixing this system, Epic just vaulted the good augments, so people ended up with a pointless mechanic that was a literal spam notification in-game for the next seasons.
